Yellowed white hair on pony
« on: June 03, 2013, 09:43:47 AM »
My euro Milky Way arrived with a bit of a smell and yellowed hair. I've popped her tail out and given that and her head a good soak in vanish gel (no powder one in at the mo) and its certainly less severe. Any other ideas?

Hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient in colour safe bleach. I use it on ponies to whiten bodies, but will work for hair too :)
Also there's always a nice Oxy-clean bath!

Ooh, hadn't thought of that, I've got a jar of peroxide going on the windowsill. It might be finished now though, it's not bubbling anymore. Will stick some oxypowder in the shopping at the weekend too!

Undiluted lemon juice and the sun :P [poor the lemon juice in a spray bottle and skoosh]. Its old fashioned but I have found it to work with any nylon based product, including pony hair. But I would suggest you test it first to make sure you have the combination of the right lemon juice with the right duration of sunlight.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
