Hair color comparison chart

I while back someone said they were going to photograph all the colors on DollyHair for comparison like all the reds in one shot and all the orange in one shot and so on. Did this every get done?

Also I was hoping for some comparison on yellow. I know I don't want golden delicious and pineapple is sold out. So I'm wondering what lemon drop, napalm, butterfly, and yellow fever look like.  Recommendations on the yellow that is not to overly/blinding yellow and not to light?

Ditto, Butterfly is a nice middleground Yellow.

I can do a comparison shot of the yellows in a bit if you want, but I'd go with Butterfly too.

I agree with butterfly. Lemon drop isn't too bad but it's a bit too vibrant imo, I learned that the hard way =/

I am compiling a book of hair samples!  Loads of customizers have helped out too!  I got a bit behind since my father passed but I am about ready to pick it back up!  I'll post yellow (what I have so far) tonight!

Maybe I'm just crazy, but Butterfly is pretty similar to Golden Delicious, despite what the site says. I once used both on the same custom, and you can't tell the difference...

I think I will go with Napalm it looks a tad more yellow where butterfly looks a touch more golden. But I want a little bit vibrate yellow so I might even go Lemon Drop. (yellow fever a bit too much)

The mane will have Ultra Violet for a center stripe.

Electric Banana is more in the green family. She should have come up with a different name.

Your custom looks awesome. And it does look like all one color, which is too bad cause If they were a touch more different it would have came out as a highlights. Maybe they gave you the wrong hanks cause they couldn't tell the difference??

Electric Banana is the fluorescent yellow (chartreuse) that some G1 ponies like Surprise have. I would definitely class it as yellow, although it does have a very clear greenish tint which CSA's camera has apparently captured. To me the hair looks yellow in good light but more like green in the dark. Same as, for example, DH Snowflake - it is white, but in dim light it looks more like purple. However, I do agree with you on the name. Electric yes, but Banana...?

Electric Banana.....think G1 Surprise's hair.  Griffin is quite right, if you look at the highlights on the little sample up there they are much brighter and more yellow. 

(The only downside of the pictures of the hair board, a LOT of hair color shifts in different light!)
