It's all in the eyes

Alright, I need some input and opinions which I know I can find plenty of here! For super secret purposes I need to know which eye style you prefer the most. And no, I'm not talking about which show or which pony or which gen you like most, this is simply about eyes.

Feel free to post in here your reasoning, or what you may like if you could take parts of one eye with another gen's eye. And of course I have pictures for examples (though I do not own any of these, and grabbed them off of google).

The G1 ones are easily my favorite, though I like the G3 as well. 

Hasbro managed to get a lot of expression into the G3 eyes, which I really think is important.  The G3.5 eyes...  no.  Just no.

In a way, I like G4 eyes the best. There's quite a bit of variation in the styles that seem to imply different personalities. With a generation that doesn't have a lot of pose variation at all so far, the eyes grab a lot of attention.

But beyond that, I love them all. Each style is suited to its generation. G1 eyes are simple and cute, G2 eyes are elegant, G3 eyes are modern and endearing, G4 help capture the feel of the show that made the toys so immensely popular.

I rather like G3 eyes. But my favourite are Twinkle Eyes, just because of the freaky backstory.

I love that G1 eyes look kind and wise and gentle. G3 eyes are also great... Not a fan of all of them (the half-lidded eyes aren't always my style) but they're always colorful and creative and bright.

I'm not a fan of the eyes on the G4 toys, but I love them in the show. Very expressive!

I remember that when G3 was just beginning, I thought the eyes were too busy. But I've really grown to love them. I am having trouble deciding between G1 and G3 for the poll...

I do really like G2 as well, they just aren't my faves. G3.5 is the worst. While I like the rounder eye shapes in G4, there's something off about how the Twilight, Rarity and Fluttershy shapes look. They're all so pretty in cartoon form but I feel like they weren't translated to toy form quite right. :S They could have done better eyes...I've seen plenty of gorgeous G4 customs to know that!

G1 win for me, they seem so kind but g3 are a close second - they just look happy.

G4s are my fave because of the variety and expressiveness. Or maybe because they try to mimic the Japanese "anime" eye look.

But I agree with the others who posted before me - the G1 eyes are simple and look wise/calm.

I don't like the little shapes (ie. small heart, dot, flame, star, etc) in the G3/3.5 eyes.

G1 wins my emotional vote, but I like the anime style of G4 too.. G3 are hands down the "prettiest"  :p Well there you go.. I cant choose!!
