My friend Shatyr made cross stitch coasters that she brought to the MLP Fair with, she makes her patterns by hand and it's really cool. I think she uses grid paper and then watches the cartoons/movies of G1 to get ponies to use.

Oh those g4 in the heart shapes are to die for!!! Are they your own work liely? Cause I'd like to do some for my daughter

Just a tip! There is a free program called perler (link: http://dolkow.se/perler/index.php)
where you can take any picture you want and get the patterns for hama beads - but since cross sticking would work to - you can make what ever you want into cross stick pattern

Ah, MLP Cross Stitch! As DancingPhoenix said, I've made several patterns by hand. I've tried putting pictures into programs for patterns, but I despised how the programs wanted me to change colors every 3 sitches and wouldn't add backstitching, so instead I make my own.

I've made small patterns, both G1 and G4, that fit perfectly into coasters. I've also got some larger ones in the works that I am nearly jumping out of my chair to get started. If only I didn't have so many other cross stitch patterns in the works...

I'll have to dig out my cross stitching things. I have to finish the Santa pattern I started for my Grama about 3 years ago first  , but after that, it'll be pony patterns

As soon as I find my upload cable, I'll get them up here. I'm quite proud of the ones I've finished, for all that they're small.

The pattern that took me the longest was Teresa Wentzler's Carousel, which I did for my best friend. Only took me 3 years. We'll all kindly ignore the fact that, during those three years, I learned new techinques and so half of the piece looks far more professional than the first half. It still looks awesome.

i hear you!! i found new double ended needles half way thru my big project, so half of mine is much neater than the other half not to mention putting it away for months at a time kinda alters the way you work also. kinda like you interrupt your groove

Oh we have that one, someday I'm hoping do that one! I can't imagine how long it will take me to complete, lol. It's beautiful, and all the individual horses.
