Share Your Custom Anger ! !

Whether its when you just don't have the time to dedicate to your custom, and its REALLY getting to you!

Or that thing just won't go the way you want it to! >_<

Right now I am very angry with my milliput that is meant to dry within 24 hours of being mixed, but the fingerprint in my 3 day old sculping begs to differ! Aaaaggghhh!

i havent done a custom in ages, and its mostly due to artblock. and that kinda upsets me xD

but another one, and i dont know why i always do this.. its like i just dont remember the past horrible experiences so i dont think? xD but i always cut the whole internal neck seam/plug thing (on G3 customs) and then when the custom is finished i have the worst time trying to glue the head back on -___- and the whole time im fighting with it im saying to myself "why did i cut the whole thing off?!"

Well, this may be just me, but in the past year I've screwed up two commissions. All because I don't go back and double check what my customer wants. What is wrong with me! So then I have to fix my mistake, which wasn't that hard to fix, but if I did it right in the first place...gah! *throws fakies at self*

I Know that's such a pain! Whats the best glue / adhesive method you've used to get the heads back on?
I've had the trouble with some bait G1's I've received with no neck plug

right now I don't necessarily have custom anger.....but the 14+ customs in my WIP pile make me rather apathetic.

I will add that one of those WIP in particular has been giving me grief for a long time. I have learned the hard way, that sculpting wings and I are not good friends. nope.

I learnt that I cannot make unicorns, without making them uniporns, my horns are very phallic :p

My most recent frustrations are both clay-related. I dropped the sculpted head of a bunny custom on the (cement!) floor, and had to fix some cracks, and when I did the hair for my TFT swap pony, it whitened the paint job despite the sealer, so I had to go over some areas again. Blargh! :throw:

I've had the trouble with some bait G1's I've received with no neck plug

This is the glue I use:

I've used it for gluing unicorn horns on, going over the inside portions of rehairs (via q-tip application), and gluing headplugless heads back in place. Thus far, the only problems I've had from it are running out too soon, letting a drop fall on my jean's leg (which made a hole and burned me a bit, if I remember correctly; been a few years since I did that, and I'm not eager to repeat the experience!), and accidentally gluing my fingers together temporarily. :P

Michael's and JoAnne Fabrics both carry it as an in-stock item. Usually $2.49-2.99 per tube. It does stink, and can cause a mild headache (for me, I'm oversensitive to scents, though), but so long as your work area isn't inside a closet, you should be fine. :)

I learnt that I cannot make unicorns, without making them uniporns, my horns are very phallic :p
Yeah, I finally broke down and made a mold of various unicorn horns; I fail at making them myself, and was tired of cutting them off an otherwise good bait. So, I now have a mold for G1, G3, G3 styling, G3.5 and G4 size horns. No more cutting horns off for me! :D

At least, in theory. The resin I have to pour into it tells me to use it in a very well-ventilated area, and I don't like opening windows in the middle of winter. :(
My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:

I slipped while cutting the wings out of a G4 alicorn bait and stabbed straight into my hand last week. It still feels numb in some parts :x I hope it's not permanently nerve damaged.

Most recently I had to strip a FBR for being too warm when I was trying for a cool lilac...  My swatches seemed spot on during mixing but then ... argh sometimes paint is temperamental.

My frustration...i had to throw away a G4 body because it had a reaction to the paint/mod podge mix...it was literally washing off and sticky. Now the head is perfect....Does anyone know if the g4 heads and bodies are made of different materials by any chance? I was using Krylon fusion (it says for use with ANY plastic) to cover the bait in a nice coat of even color but I may go to hand painting for the next body bait and just match the head color. Grrrrr.

I did my first G4 today. Those neck plugs are the absolute WORST... I snapped the tip off of my exacto knife trying to find a weak spot in the seam.

*glares at Masquerades shineyness*

ooh and another thing... when im doing intricate paintwork and dont wait long enough for it to fully dry (impatient. i am it.) the paintbrush will scrape off the lower levels of paint and i have a mild heart attack and have to go back and build it up again. =P

eta: hmm looks like the pic isnt the best... was tryin to show examples, not show off... Locket is another shiney gal. its so odd. =/
