At the moment, I'm making lots of G4 to G1 customs, so there isn't really much creativity there...I tend to just browse the MLC hair website, and if I see a particular colour I like, think what it could be used for in real life...I much prefer just rehairing and repainting G4s, so much easier haha!

It comes from books and movies mainly, deviantart also is a great source of inspiration or just things I see around on art-sites or *gasp* the real world.
Seasons, landscape, weather, fine art, animals or mythological creatures, color combination, food, toys... everything goes. :)

Nature, pop culture, classic art, and comic books.

I have to say pretty much the same.

Even a random word can be source of inspiration. And well, sometimes G1s, mostly G1 to G1 customs.

From all over. A neat pattern. A pretty set of colors. A song. A movie. A book. A video game. The sky. A flower. Nature in general really. Just......Everywhere. Open up your mind when you look at the world around you and I'm sure you'll be inspired in no time.

Ah, inspiration. I always have trouble getting inspiration from other things. I really only get started by looking at a blank canvas. It's hard to draw in my head or sculpt in my head- I need something in front of me. I'll just stare at a pile of clay or a blank paper intensely for awhile, do something, realize I hate it, do it differently, add something to it, realize I like the addition, erase the original, add something to the addition... until quite suddenly I've made something. whoops.
I usually only art because I feel like doing so, not because I have a concept or an idea.

My answer on the custom spotlighte once was:

What inspires you?
Everything - I do any kind of customs and that's pretty scary sometimes.
I would do a tea pot custom if anyone asks for it (that's a great idea btw)
I really love new challanges!
Once someone commissioned me to make a Jacob Black custom but half wolf half human - first thought was: WHAT??? - and then I started and it turned out exactly how I expected it and what was much better as my comissioner expected it!

So like I said everything could be inspired, also other customizers.

So my answer is - I get inspiration from everywhere cuz everything inspires me.
I guess that's not really a useful answer  :lookround:

Very random, it's handy to keep a small sketch book on hand.  My last custom was inspired by a 7-11 clerk's nail art!
