(non pony) Chao Plushie!

Been getting into sewing a lot now, and I recently finished this little guy! For those that don't know, he's a Chao from the Sonic Adventure games.

It took awhile, the pattern was a little confusing with no real instructions.. and trying to figure out how the hell to sew the body parts together was a pain, but I figured it out thanks to dad. I definitely want to make more chao, but I'm working on tweaking the pattern. The artist who made it was amazing and I'm super thankful they shared it, but I can see ways to tweak it to suit my own sewing style. I'm going to make my chao with jointed limbs so they'll be fully poseable. Still, I love this little bugger, and I was trying to think of a mouth, but in the end, I liked him better neutral. He's made of Minky and felt for eyes.

I've never seen this little fellow before but OMG he is adorable!! I can't imagine how you can make something like this yourself.. it looks so professional! Awesome!

I loved the Chaos in the sonic game!! That was my main goal when I played it on the gamecube I had so many and still have the game/save file.  They are just too cute and having Amy Rose in japanese made it even better!

Congrats on finishing him and on getting a pattern + tweaking it to your style.

If I remember correctly out was white with the tiger hands/feet/ears and he was soooo cute x3 They had tons of cute animals parts though! Totally worth exploring!

So is there a possibility of chao commissions?  I'd love one if you did that.

I will totally be game for chao commissions once I get the limb joints and finish tweaking the pattern. It may be basic colors with minimal features to start, but as I do more I'll offer more options.  I've got the wings altered to be a big bigger and rounder, and the feet won't *quite* be as pointy. The biggest changes will be that I want to attach the limbs by doll joint instead of sewing, so you can turn them however you want. I think it'll make the limbs stronger as well, less chance of them ripping off.

Ah!! That's just the cutest~!! Ooh, I've got an idea, what if you made the animal parts like ears and such with magnets in them? That way they could be attached and removed from the plush whenever~!

Yes, I eventually want to make most of the chao types. Starting with the basic hero and dark, then moving on to the adult version, then the more complicated ones like Sonic, NiGHTS, etc.
