Pricing items...
« on: March 02, 2013, 03:21:37 PM »
Vendors:  how are you pricing your items that are not ponies (puzzles, books, etc) in terms of price tags?  I thought about using those sticker dots like people use for yard sale items, but I don't want to risk having them not be able to come unstuck when the item is sold and damage the product.  I'm using the hang tags for the actual ponies but am stumped on the other stuff.

I have seen folks put a little card next to the items for the prices.

Post it notes would be my suggestion. They make a variety of styles/sizes and they are less sticky than pricing dots :)

for flat objects you could use paperclip to attach a little piece of card with the price. Post its come in non-sticky varieties but I would worry that those would come off and get lost.

I sometimes put things in ziplocks and then tape/stick a tag to that. Puzzles a post it woudl be good but stick one inside too in case it gets lost or put what the item is in case it falls off.

If you put a tag around the ponies head and write with a marker put tape over the marker so it doesn't rub the ink onto other ponies.

Also do not put price stickers on the ponies if you use a pen.  Eventually if you keep the sticker on there the ink will absorb into the pony and she'll have writing on her (I talk from my own experience, my poor ponies.... why did I do that?!? :( ).

I think post it notes would be good for things that a sticker or tape might damage would be a good solution.

Also it helps to take a list of things with you one so you know what you have and two so you know what your pricing is. So if I came up to your booth and glanced around.... You wouldn't happen to have -pony- do you? This is especially helpful if you can't fit everything on to your table at one time so you reload as you sell through.

Most likely that would be what I will do is to bring out more items as stuff clears (I only bought one table) so an inventory list would be great.  I've used one on a pad of paper at my flea market booth but I'm wondering if there's another good system out there like a computer program?

I like Evernote myself because I can sync to all my devices if I want to use my phone, iPad, pc, etc. but you only get so much storage for free.

Edit plus I can sign in to my evernote account on other peoples devices.

google drive spread sheet was what I've used in the past for a pricing sheet, if it helps?

I use little heart shaped post-its :)

For inventory, you could print the sheets out and laminate them - that way you can pass them to people as well to browse through if the stall gets busy.
