A G1 Animation Project

I haven't forgotten about auditioning! I'll need to whip my laptop out to do so though, so hopefully sometime next week I'll send in an audition.

In the meantime, to increase our chances of getting Hasbro's blessing, we have changed the name to remove the mention of My Little Pony.  It's now Legends of Dream Valley.

We got a big update here.  Because it's a standalone episode, we're going to go with Flutter Phobia first.  So, whoever said they wanted to voice Flutterbye, you better be at the top of your game.

I wish the My Little Pony Fair was sooner.  It would be nice to actually talk to someone about this.

We have come to a decision concerning the design and animation of this fan-made series. While the overall design will still be based very much on Friendship is Magic, we are going to have a unique style in the art and animation. Since this is not Friendship is Magic, we believe it should have its own look and feel.

I am sure this will lessen your chances of Hasbro shutting your project down as well.  Have you been able to contact them to ask permission?  I am sure some of us could do some investigation as to whom would be best to approach. 

I am very happy to hear that you will not be using the design and styles of the dedicated animators who spent years of their lives committed to this project.  It would be a slap in the face to those individuals' artistry if a fan-made show decided to make its merit based on the character designs from others!  That's the POINT of being fan-made, right? 

Sorry if this comes across as harsh but one of my close friends is an animator and NOTHING bothers me more than seeing people copy her work for the convenience, when I know she spent MONTHS stressing over every little detail.  That is how she provides for her family!

We haven't gotten permission from Hasbro yet.  They seem to have an issue with using G1 character.  I want to talk to someone face to face over this.  Being able to discuss our intentions would be better than sending an explanation and waiting for a response.
