so Hasbro made errors back then?

They're not really errors, but simply slightly different molds, probably from different factories.

I will dig around and see if I have big-heads / small-heads of the other pose to take pictures of.

bbassel, you are very welcome! :D

It's also possible the first batch of moulds (or the originals they were cast from) were lost or damaged, so they had to remake the moulds, which would account for some warp-age / differences in the sculpt.  Expanding production could also be a cause, or switching factories as was mentioned.   I doubt we'll ever know exactly what the reason was for the differences, but I do recall noticing early on that Rosedust had a "fat face" version.  *chuckle*

Of course. A company cannot always deliver perfection, after all.

Thats normal for the second wave :) They only come with the one size of head. What a great couple of ponies to add to your collection.

Heh, I had no idea the difference even existed until I noticed it myself.  I assume there have been many threads about it? I didn't even know which way to turn until I saw somebody selling "big head" flutters and then I realised it was a thing we knew of.

And now I don't know which of my two Rosedust's to keep.  :P They're so different!

I remembered when I first noticed it on my two Rosedusts. I thought it was a trick of the eye until I received my 3rd on with a small head. I currently have 1 fat head and 3 regular roseduts I believe lol.

Butbutbut... my one-pony rule! It'd be weeeeird to have two of the same pony in my collection :P (I like to think of them as "individuals", LOL! Although, I like the looks of armies because it looks like a herd of a specific pony-species.) I suppose I'll just base my decision on which one of them cleans up the nicest.

Or, I could steal the head off the fat one, and put it on the thin one's body  :sly: But... that could cause problems for the buyers of my ponies! Augh! FAT PONIES WHY YOU DO THIS.

No of course not :P They are clearly "different" ponies! *any desperate excuse to justify multiple of same pony*
