I wonder if, instead of it being a permanent transformation Twilight will gain the ability to become a alicorn 'sometimes' when duty calls and she uses her element of harmony (like sailormoon? Like shera's horse swiftwind? y'know)

If it's not permanent, then I'll be fine with it. The toy itself is very cute but the Mane 6 needs to be balanced.

If it is permanant, it may become a Mane7 just to balance things out

I think its really exciting that Twilight might become an alicorn. It would add character growth and dimension to the storyline. The thing that always got me about American cartoons was that the characters never evolved, they stayed the same...forever. It's just boring. Even if it's just temporary, still cool as far as I am concerned. Looks like the new power/species change is going to definitely happen now.

Sd, the size does look a bit off. But who knows if that is what she will look like during the show..it could be just a prototype image?

meh on the castle...and meh on Twilight as a winged unicorn.

If it's true it seems trivial, I was hoping Winged Uni's were born special like...as in it's rare to have a WU and that is why Celestia and Luna are special...not just poofed into being or transformed by magic.

If it is magic that creates a wu it just seems less special to me for some reason.

It's the opposite for me. If winged unicorns are just a species, than you can just...breed more of them.
To me it seems more special if winged unicorns are actually very powerful/magical ponies.
A "status" that only a select few can achieve.

The more I look at it, the more I think the wings are clip ons.  That rubber dress she's wearing has little snap on jewels.  Makes sense that the wings are too, to me.

She looks like a standard glimmer wing pony with less-overwhelming wings, but height changed with shoes.
