UK oddball flutter MIB
« on: December 28, 2012, 07:19:39 AM »
My brother got me this gal for christmas... She is an UK oddball flutter with no wings in a windy wing cool breeze box and coming with strange accessories like a mommy charm, a yellow crown clip, and two green squirrel clips as well as two combs. I peered in the box to see some pamphlets folded behind the pony and I decided to investigate... Here is what I found.. I am wondering if the other UK oddball flutters that were sold in a princess pony box came with the same pamphlets. She came with an awful lot of items for a flutter pony :) I guess they were trying to clear out the rest of their stock when they packaged these. The pamphlets are, Collectors book, Collectors albumn, and a mummy charm pamphlet.

Maybe its the accessory addict in me but I love that the oddballs we have seen in box always seem to come with multiple combs/brushes. A lot of random accessories seems to be a pattern for the couple of oddballs so far anyway.

It is also interesting that she is packaged with accessories which should have come with Happy Tails or Princess ponies considering they are other odd ball sets.

The mummy charm isnt entirely unexpected a lot of ponies during a couple of middle years had mummy charms packaged with them - again including the Happy Tails and second edition Princess ponies. So yes I guess they had a mix of bits of ponies and accessories for the ponies and they truly did just get shoved in pretty much any box and in any combination.

She looks great - congrats on your Christmas present.

O_o it looks like they put in a heap of random accessories in... Or all the left overs. It's really cool though, I remember watching this auction and wondering who won it. Congrats on her, I'm glad you got her. :)

BKC has never opened her princess variant in box, and pretty sure Reaperfox hasn't opened her Bobbie in box, so wouldn't know what they came with ;)

Awesome present!! I did bid on her, but dropped out before the end (as I knew I shouldn't be bidding really ;) ) Love the complete randomness she came with... if memory serves, those pamphets came from different years, so that would fit with the 'whatever they had' theory. The blue one is a UK pamphlet and at a glance I think the other one is US, but it's hard to tell at distance. Is the crown clip from the second ed princesses, and do the squirrel clips look like any that could have come with the accessory packs? Would love to see a closer pic of them.

Congrats!

I haven't detached the Pony from her card board but only slid
The cardboard from the box once to remove the paperwork
Inside. I don't like deboxing either. I think we should
Know at the very least what the oddballs came with :)
I will try to get more pictures of the pamphlets cown and squirrel clips

Would love to find out more a out the other
Mib oddball flutters too hopefully someone Here got them. :)

The Second set princess leaflet is American and the blue booklet is UK... there should be a date and issue number on that one too.  Probably 87 or 88 something.  There were two releases in the UK of that leaflet, one with Magic Message Ponies and I can't remember the other but it's the page opposite the TAF ponies.  I definitely got that Mummy Charms leaflet in the UK.

Does she have normal hoof marking?  She looks strange with no wings.

edit to add;
The Mummy Charms sheet is slightly different actually...

of course if yours says mOmmy is US, mUmmy UK :P

Wow... Nice Christmas present! Thanks for sharing. Just super nice accessories and leaflets. I guess they´ve had a ton of "leftovers" at the factory, when they´ve been throwing so many things in that box ;)

That is so weird! Does the pony not even have the stubs for where her wings should go? And is that even the right symbol?

Oddballs are amazing, I just love them. They're sort of human nature meets production line.
