Firefly Appears in IDW Comic

I got the first issue of the MLP Comic from IDW.  Firefly appears on the first splash page complete with purple tail bow.

I don't scan as a point of policy, but this is a new Friendship is Magic comic.  They had Firefly as one of many shout-outs in the splash page.

I have to wait a while to pick the comic up, but I did see that page in the kotaku review! It's a nice shout out to older-gen fans.

Oh yes when I saw her I was so happy I'm so glad they did a small homage to G1 .

I loved seeing Firefly (with her purple tail bow too!) and my husband noticed the "established 1982" which is a nice shoutout to the G1 fans.

I find it funny that she's flying next to Rainbow Dash, Rainbow Dash was inspired from Firefly.

I thought that it was some sort of mix of Firefly and Surprise, since she has the hair that they planned to give a pegasus Pinkie originally, and Pinkie's G4 personality is based off of Surprise's.

Sadly I don't think Hasbro owns the rights to most G1 characters anymore, that's why FiM had to adapt the personalities of the past onto new ponies.
