Possible Sea Ponies in the Future?

Hmm.  It looks like a betta fish!  Not what I was expecting/hoping for, but I will reserve judgement until I see more of these sea ponies.  It has potential, but I was hoping for something more... shoo be do.

I think, considering that the mane six don't look like they normally do on this cover, that it's right to assume that if a toy was made of this pony, or it appeared in the show, it wouldn't look exactly like this image

That said, i love it I love how bright and stylized the cover is and am actually interested to read the story Plus i love the new pony logo with the scales and would totally buy the mane six with their little fins

Also, is it just me or are the ponies wearing bubble necklaces??? They don't have helmets like spike so i'm assuming that would allow them to breathe underwater

Yeah, I thought those maybe are gills, but I'm more and more thinking those are necklaces.

They are out in "Spring 2013" - you ll probably find them in both toy and regular book sellers.

I think those who are upset about how the sea ponies look are mostly just upset because they don't look like the fan art versions. I guess the FIM fandom also suffers from "fannonesia" where they forget that the official works do not have to follow fannon.

I think the artwork is pretty- but

There will always be people who like to complain, I hope the artist doesn't get her feelings hurt by some of the meaner comments-   sometimes people can be so insensitive.

I want the seaponies to look more g4-style too but I am willing to give anything a chance as long as it's not MORE mane 6! Also, when the g4's came out I thought they were hideous. I have no clue why I thought that because now I think they are so incredibly adorable!

Although I do find the style of the art on the cover to be weird, I don't mind the design for the seapony so far. I'm not going to hold my breath that seaponies will appear in the show or as toys, though. Books for a series usually don't follow the official release unless they are "writing out what happened in the episode" type of books.

Mmmm I don't know what to think. I love the general design of the seapony, but there's something about her head and eyes that shout BARBIE to me that I dislike. Hopefully the toy itself will look more MLP and a lot prettier. I love Betta fish and I hope the seaponies will come with transluscent fins. They'll be so pretty!

I love sea ponies, but I don't even have a G1 sea pony yet.
