Why are words being replaced?

Okay, so I sorta understand replacing "Der-py" with some other word, even though Ditzy Doo is not the same pony (it is extremely irritating, BTW)...

...but why is a link to a post on Equestria Daily being replaced with a link to Hasbro's website? I am trying to make a wanted post, but my link keeps getting messed up. What is going on?

Ditzy and Pony are the same, there were just fights over the name and she's had one, then the other.

And ED is not an allowed site to post. I think it's something with "competing" sites? Anyways, links to ED aren't allowed. that's why it's changed.

I could've sworn that Lauren Faust said that Der-py and Ditzy Doo are not the same pony...

Apparently, the word "Der-py" is too offensive, so it gets filtered...

It's changed simply because it's a fight the mods don't want to bother with. It's not that hard to just shrug it off and call her what you want.

And the sites are competitive. I think some sites are translated into 'some other pony site' as well.

The Ditzy Doo thing, they are the same pony it's just there was SO much drama over the name that everyone got tired of it.  It was getting seriously ridiculous.  So the filter got put in place to help it die out a little bit.

As to EQ, per site rules one cannot advertise a completing site.

Actually EqD is filtered as it does not meet our PG13 rules, as well as being a competing site.
If you're just linking to a post there to say "this is what I want", I'm sure you can find a way to work around it (ie find the info elsewhere, or make your own Photobucket with the images).

I won't get into the whole history of the grey pegasus name switch, but I think others have pretty much covered it. There was too much immaturity going around over a pony's name, and after locking Pony thread #50 with the exact same fighting going on, the mods were fed up.
