Princess Sundance? Is this a legit variant?
« on: September 20, 2012, 01:31:44 PM »
Hiya,

I bought a baity lot off eBay he other day, and this girl wasn't even  properly in the picture!
(Sorry I don't seem to be able to put pics directly into my post)

http://s1172.photobucket.com/albums/r575/Ginger_Blossom/?action=view&current=PrincessSundance_zps2037da3d.jpg&jwidget_action=album

She seems to have standard no country Sundance body, princess Pearl/Tiffany's head and a very thin but definitely on an authentic metal grip Princess tail - white with gold, pink and blue glitter.  Her head seems securely glued and original.

As I got her in a lot that turned out to contain a no country Sundance, a no country Mummy Bright Bouquet and an Italian Bow Tie I thought she might be legit, but i have no experience of this kind of factory mix up!

Any advice/theories would be appreciated!

Hugs,

WB

It's a mystery. I'd love a close up photo if you could.

It honestly looks like sundance's body with Tiffany's head and tail tossed on it. I honestly would not think it would be legit.

Looks like Princess Tiffany's head and tail on a Sundance body. The neck looks too long and has a "dip" in it where it joins the body.  Neat nonetheless? I'd love to swap heads and bodies to see what neat combos to make!

Is her tinsel multi-colored?  Does she have a forelock?  If the tinsel is not silver and she does not have a forelock then she may be legit.  Let us know :)

I think a pony like this popped up on eBay a long time ago (2006,7?) & it was widely believed to be a Tiffany head stuck on a Sundance body, not a legit variation like the Princess & Happy Tails mix-up ponies. Did the lot come from a collector? If so, it's possible that this is the same exact pony.

what a cool combo :-) thank goodness KKV has an outstanding memory, but I dunno - to my untrained eye I don't see a tiffany forelock - and being UK with all the other put-togethers,  I wonder if this was another poundshop cutie = would love some close-up pics :-)

I like it = princess sundance

Yup, I got into it with the person who bought that pony off ebay years ago.
She was going to send pictures to me to prove it was real but they were never forthcoming.
And the subject was dropped and forgotten until now.
I was not even going to reply to this thread but seeings as how it's raised up again,
the pony has been put together by someone and as far as anyone knows  this could even be the same pony as it was as you said kitkat, years ago.  That's the problem when people don't mark their rehairs and customs on the foot bottom with indelible ink.  I have gotten any more so that I don't even like to buy anything off ebay as who knows where it came from.
