Send her an email saying "It's so neat you will be in Denver, I am available for you to come pick up your item Saturday from 1pm till 5 or Sunday from 3 till 7. Let me know what day you would like to come." That type thing. She is being deliberately dense hoping for a freebie.

Why not ask her when she is coming to pick it up?  Let her know that it is ready to be picked up whenever she can get there.  Lol!

That would be extremely hilarious, I would do this too!

I still haven't sent another message but lord am I tempted to write that message. So tempted...

I have decided I won't be refunding anything. I'm not going to make it easy for her by just saying "Oh sorry, your scam didn't work. Here's your money in full. Better luck next time".

I'm going to make her work for it. She can open a case and once she does she'll get her money back. But I'll be reporting the heck out of her when she does. I'll also call Ebay for my 50 cents back.

Also, if I refund her immediately, the case won't be on my record BUT it will be on hers. If she pulls this type of thing a lot and has to open a lot of cases, Ebay will take notice after a certain amount. So, I want her to open a case.

I won't be relisting the item either until this is over. So as far as I'm concerned, I'll be just hanging on to them waiting for her to "pick them up".

You really do need to send an email saying it is ready for pick up. eBay needs that in your record.

Yep, definitely tell her via PM that her her item is ready for pick-up. That covers you, then let her dig her own hole.

There is a slight possibility it is an unintentional mistake. I know once I sold an item, and I went to send an invoice, and for some reason, eBay had the local pickup option first on the invoice even though it was not the first option on the listing. I had to change the order of the shipping before sending the person the invoice or it would have had local pickup as the first shipping option. Also, once when I went to pay someone, it was lucky I checked it because the local pickup was the automatic default shipping, and I had to change it to first class myself. If I hadn't checked and just hit the pay button, I would have never known. So if this person wasn't paying that much attention and just hit the pay button using whatever the first shipping option was, they might not have realized it was local pickup or that they had to change it/choose a different shipping option. But in this case, it kind of does seem like they intentionally are acting dense.

Well, she never responded so I sent another message that said "Well I'm available Monday 9/24 and will be awaiting for you to pick it up. Please pick it up before 7pm. Thanks".

I doubt she is going to respond. I really think she thinks I sent it.

Well it's good that you have it on record with ebay that you arranged a pickup time - I can't wait to see how this unfolds. Some  people *eyeroll*

Hmm, I'm in Castle Rock. I will come to you and say I'm her and then it's not your problem anymore, right?! ;-)

Haha, funny.

Well at this point I'll just wait and see what happens. After a month or so I'll update this thread to whether she opens a case or just runs off with a tail between her legs. I've taken local pick-up off a bunch of auctions but it takes a long time since I have like 200 auctions :-/

Although I'll keep it on a few large items.

This whole thing is very disappointing. Thanks for everyone's help.
