Display Only MLP Sleeping Bag

I posted this over on the trading post, but thought I'd put it up here too.  I have an awesome collectible that I'm thinking about selling, but I have no idea what people are willing to pay for such an item.  It was never sold in stores, simply used as a display for the full-size sleeping bag.  I have attached pictures with Bowtie to show the scale.  It is in mint condition and has been stored in a smoke-free home.  Should I just ask for bids here and sell to the highest bidder?  It is my prize pony possession, so I want to make sure she goes to a good home at the right price.

If it's a single item that has never otherwise been seen, for the size and excellent condition I'd tag your reserve at $100 and see what happens if you take offers on it? It looks great. How did you find it?

Personally you cant really put a price on a one off item like this - especially merch. Merch in general hits lower prices a lot of the time as not everyone collects but most important is that there are a lot of merch collectors who will probably willingly be looking to purchase such an unusual item.

As Dusky says you can only set the price though auction - you can set a reserve for as much as you like - whether it goes as high for one piece of merch as $100 I am not all that certain but only an auction open to collectors is going to tell you the price someone is willing to pay.

There's actually a few of these floating around. They pop up every couple years or so. The may pole one pops up most often. Stores like Sears, JcPenney, Towers, and Service Merchandise all had those small sleeping bag displays. Some employees must have thought they'd make great doll sleeping bags and kept them. I have also seen Strawberry Shortcake, Garfield, He-Man and a few others over the last decade.

I have one of those, too!  Mine is of the rockin' beat ponies.  Some stores still have mini sleeping bag displays in the camping section, but they are just of normal bags and nothing as cool as this!  The holes in the bag is where they snapped on to a display board.  Just FYI for those interested!

Afraid I can't help with price.  As others have said, merch is tricky and this is an item that wasn't sold to the general public so I can only assume it's relatively hard to find!

Aw, that's so cute. Now you just need one of those little display tents to put it in and your ponies can have a camp out. (I love the idea, already.) Good luck on your sale.
