Searching a 50 mile radius for ponies or going to every Family Dollar in town, including those in the not-so-nice-portions of town searching for the older G4 releases. My background on my teaching computer is randomly changing vector art ponies. My desk at work has all my blindbags on it. All of my students know I love ponies. Umm... My dining room table has been taken over by ponies [okay, and Monster High] until I can get a set of bookshelves.

You bring your traveling pony (Sunrise Song) to your computer networking class, and spend as much mental effort explaining things to her as you do on the material. It's...not at all unlike having a curious little sister tagging along. 

One of our more memorable conversations:

"Wow! And I thought it was hard to get little children to play nice together!"
"Yeah...computers are a lot like little kids, because a lot of the time they won't do what you tell them. And you even can't spank a computer or give it a time-out if it won't behave, because they don't have any feelings."
"Yeah - but at least you don't have to change their diapers."

My teacher soon asked what the heck I was giggling so hard about.

While my boyfriend and I were in the process of breaking up and I was trying to sort everything out in my head, I had several ponies take different sides of the issue and they talked it out with me. (All in my imagination, of course! I'm not crazy!)

Merriweather: Psh. Please. That's just your body talking.
Up Up and Away: Perhaps, but it's natural to feel that way. You're lonely right now. Don't be hard on yourself.

Up Up and Away: But you two should stay friends! He still cares for you.
Garden Glow: Yes, he does! He needs you!
Merriweather: She didn't mean like that! You aren't helping!!
Wind Whistler: What you need is a job. None of this boyfriend business really matters anyway.
Firecracker Burst: All these "feelings" are just chemistry and brainwaves anyway. There is no deep meaning to any of this. Does that help?
Love Melody: Love is more than romantic feelings, dear. Do you love him enough to let him go?

So you know you're obsessed with ponies when you literally solve your problems with ponies. And it works!

When I'm hitting the refresh button on ebay every 5 mins in the hope something new has just been listed.

When I tell myself I don't need to buy any new clothes this month (TBH I don't I've got loads but I used to go clothes shopping every payday) because there are too many ponies I need.

When I'm trying to get my 3 year old son into G4's (I'm a G1 collector) then I can go to TRU and buy him all the play sets guilt free. Unfortunately at the moment he isn't biting but I'll give it a few more tries hehe.
