Airbrush/Compressor, is this a good one?
« on: November 26, 2012, 09:38:01 PM »
http://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Performance-Multi-purpose-Compressor-The/dp/B001TO578Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353994500&sr=8-1&keywords=airbrush+with+compressor

I found this Master Airbrush kit for like $84 on amazon.... it looks to be good to me, but I want to know if anyone has experience with it?

Or is there a different airbrush that would be better for around the sameish price?

Lol, I asked my parents for that same set for Christmas.

For me it was mostly the fact that anything is better than the airbrush I currently have (my dad says he bought it for $5), and it good reviews. I also saw it on Maniah's amazon wish list, which makes it good enough for me.  ^.^

I don't know about that one. I have a Paasche. It's the brand pop-girl recommended when I asked a few years back and she does the best airbrush gradients ever so Paasche is what I got!

*edit for spelling. It's raining so I can't think, let alone spell. :silly:

I would go for a different airbrush. The compressor its fine, but i had an airbrush like that and it was a piece of garbage!

I have a Badger and a Paasche :)

Galactica was looking for an airbrush recently and she got some good advice in this thread:

the other ones are out of my friend's price range sadly :( but this one is right in it, it's also got a 1 year warranty on it, and really good reviews :3 I think I'll give it a shot, and if the air brush doesn't work as well I can look for a better one, but I think with just starting out I'll try to start out inexpensive, it's supposed to be good for beginners and does come with a learning guide book

The compressor is probably fine, but I would go for either an iwata or a paasche. For the simple reason that it's easy to find parts and nozzles for iwata and paasche.  My dad got me an airbrush/compresser kit from harbor freight.  The airbrush is basically useless unless you really want a .35 mm tip and it sprays out barely anything. Plus they put the paint bottle on the bottom, which I don't think is helping since there is no real suction getting it into the brush.

I would spend the dough for one of the two mentioned brands to save yourself a lot of headache.

I have this Harbour Frieght same kit, and it's fabulous.  If your paints are properly thinned and your airbrush is clean, it's a rocking little kit for a great price.
