What?? It's the MLP fair of course there are going to be G1s...the FIRST ponies? Was there some kind of drama?

I read the whole thread and just got annoyed with bronies being mean about the other generations being at the convention, one said they couldn't stomach them and one compared them to world war 2..
I mean they're just so childishly infuriating after everything the convention does everything to surrport the new community to join in. I mean Friendship is magic is the key here. *shrugs*

I don't want to go off topic or ranting about people, this is about the ponycon exclusive after all.
and I'm too upset that hasbro does not want to help/give something back after the years we have all spent paying them for other ponies.
I wonder if it's come under new management or something and someone else less.. thoughtful is in charge?

But I tell you what, if Ponycon could raise the funds to purchase 10k ponies they would be laughing, say you purchased them at $2 per unit (rough guestimate) and sold them even at $15 per unit, that's a profit! They would definitely all sell too, with the mess Hasbroken  sounds like they made at the fair.

Well.... on the bright side... if you guys do order 10,000 Bubblebutts or Grey Pegasus Ponies or whatever we call her , there will be enough to go around for all of us If you choose to sell her through the site afterwards.

Allthough I know this would mean she's not really all that exclusive anymore, but everyone does want her. But it is hard for everyone to get her when there's not enough out there to go around >.<

And even though I haven't made it to a fair yet and probably wont for a while yet I'm seriously disapointed on behalf of the UK Fairgoers I think you guys who host the fairs are doing an amazing job and it's so heartwarming to see how hard you work to make sure your fairgoers get fair treatment by Hasbro

Anyway, to get back on topic, this is craziness and I'm so disappointed to hear Hasbro's attitude this year.  My main upset is that I know the exclusive was always one of the things that raised a big big amount for the charity of the year and it makes me sad to think they won't get that money this year because of Hasbro.

It's really a shame, I'm so angry with hasbro for screwing over these conventions that have supported them for years.

I didn't know that was why Hasbro making it very clear that they dont care about the international fans, just 'their own'

I have a genius idea!

Lets start a syndicate, win the lottery, buy all the bubblebutts (love that name!) and have one each.

Then we'll flog the rest to Toys R Us (cos they are more world wide than Target who always seem to get exclusives!) to get our money back. 

On a more serious note, I can't help but feel like Europe is being treated as the little sister by Hasbro. It might genuinely by that it's Hasbro Europe's "patch" and they don't like to tread on toes but they could sound sorry at least!

And honestly, I could've done us a shipment from the US to the UK for a few hundred £. I am guessing that 10,000 units is close to a 20ft (or 40ft) container. Why are they being so grumpy about it?!

Most of the b-words that stuck around at the fair were pretty open to other gens actually, I was impressed. But yeah there were those who instantly left after. I saw them sitting outside the fair before they left with their "grey pegasus" ponies already de-boxed and they were playing with them. Then there was the guy who sat next to us at pony bingo and was saying how it wasn't fair that they were all G1 ponies because he didn't know them. Then he went on to say how the ponies in the bingo game should all be FiM ponies because then everyone would know them. It took all of my power not to punch this kid in the face.

Honestly if this pony was a more interesting exclusive like in years past I'd be MORE upset. I'm just mad because I was so close to getting one and then they sold out and I don't think I can wait around on the toy shop website for the next release of canceled orders. And yes, the ticket package that included the exclusive was sold out as well. The only thing left when I got to buy my ticket was the weekend pass that just paid for both days in advance.

And yes, I would totally donate money to the UK Fair to get ponies over to you guys... despite if I was able to get one myself or not! You deserve the chance too.

The 10.000 units make absolutely no sense.
Obviously there needs to be a minimum amount to make it worth it, but in this case the mould and design already exists and that is where the cost is.

10,000 is a crazy number to have to order if in previous years it was a smaller number like a 1,000. That's a huge increase for the minimum order.

Considering the Fair technically didn't have it's own exclusive, it just seems logical to assume hasbro increased the minimum to a crazy figure like 10,000. Even if it was still $7 a pony what fan run convention wants to dish out that much money at one time?

I mean it would be great if we could all ban together to get an exclusive but the $$$ amount is kind of scary.

I believe the 10,000 they're referring to is dollars, not ponies.  Now, it's been a couple years since I placed an order with Hasbro, so this may have changed a little, but I doubt much.  So....Their minimum amount of ponies in order to do a run is 1,000.  Generally, most ponies cost at least $7.  I would imagine that by now they cost more, especially since just ponies in general are more expensive than they were a few years ago.  So my guess is that new design/new mold/large display box = about $10 per piece, which would add up to $10,000.

That would make more sense as a total - hiking an order minimum of 1000 [for a worldwide run] up to 10 000 [for just the UK] is crazy! I dont understand why they have told the Committee 10,000 - that seems a higher run than they even did for all the US events and sales!

Edit: I assume they did have a limited amount dedicated to the US Fair rather than being willing to meet demand - that would probably be why the packages which contained the pony were limited in number - therefore even if you paid for your ticket for the event if the "with pony" tickets were sold you would not be guaranteed a pony.

I do like the idea of making a Kickstarter page - although it might have the side effect of swamping PonyCon with European collectors and bronies in need of Miss Hooves!
I am more than willing to donate towards getting this pony to the UK. I need her so badly! I don't think you'd have much trouble shifting any excess stock after the fair either.

If she did end up at the UK con, there would just be an invasion of bronies once again who would only be attending for one thing and being rude about older generations (I did see this happening at the US fair). But it's easy for me to say that I'm not keen on having her there since I already have two of the pony in question.... and I agree it's very sad what they have done to loyal fans, especially international ones.

The german fair also does not get a convention exclusive. We were told to order a minimum of 1000 ponies, but since we are kinda few people compared to the US fans, nobody can do that :/ They also dont even give us a hand on the decoration as promised and telling the con-organisators that "they are not allowed to sponsor anything like that, because of the marketing" ... I feel they totally dont care about us.
