A thought/question crossed my mind about Ditzy Doo & Comic Con...

So, how do so many (on eBay, etc) guarantee several of the FS Ditzy Doo when it's only 2 per customer? I guess that's been puzzling me for awhile now...and how do they manage to get so many when she's SO popular? 

Any thoughts on this? I guess I'm really curious, that and wary about pre-ordering...

My guess is that they assume they can get into line more than once and buy more than the limit. I'm not sure how it's worked in previous years, but I don't think they usually scan badges to make sure you only take the limit like this year?

Well, according to the person I asked, they bring multiple people to buy the ponies.  But that was just one person.  He also said in past years it was easy to get them because they do not sell out as fast as other toys.  Although I wonder if this year will be different.  If the demand is not super crazy I think a person can go buy the 2 ponies and then run to the back of the line and buy 2 more when they make the front, so technically you can buy as many as you like so long as they don't run out and you keep coming back.

I know in the notes when I bought mine, that they said I'd be completely refunded if they were unable to get her..... though I don't know what's stopping me from leaving negative feedback should it happen..... hmmm...

That was my first thought, that maybe they go in groups/pairs...hmm. Well, I've pre-ordered now so here's hoping for the best.

This year, according to Prismatic who's at the con, they are allowing a max of 3 per customer, and are actually scanning badges so you can't get back into line to get any more.  =/

I'm wondering this too. I checked ebay, and there's one seller who had 5 from the con

Yeah, I "pre-ordered" too.  I really hope he can get me one.

I also pre-ordered and my seller comes through   I'd rather have the pony than my money back...

Based on what we are hearing, these Pre-Order sellers might be in for a surprise with badges being scanned and a limit of three.  Especially when some of these sellers are promising 10 or so ponies to different people.  The seller I bought from had multiple available.  How does he then choose which three get a pony and which of the rest of us get refunds assuming he doesn't really have lots of friends and can't get back in line! 

Worry.  Worry worry worry.  Oh well, if he can't get me one there is always ebay after the fact although I might then have to save up for her.

I assume the limit is 3 per day, not just 3 for the entire con. I ordered from a seller with a decent shipping price to UK this morning (so many ask about £20+ for shipping alone to UK!) who is shipping direct from San Diego over the weekend. They have just put up 5 more Ditzy Doo's tonight so I assume they are selling whatever stock they get their hands on over the weekend, instead of hoping on pre-orders

Sometimes people or companies, like Big Bad Toystore, have a table set up to buy extras from people at the convention, at a higher price than they paid for the pony.

Then they mark up the pony when they sell it on eBay or on their website to make a profit.

Not according to Prismatic.  She was trying to pick up quite a few for people here (in the sales forum) and she was only able to get 3 total and can't get back in line tomorrow.

This pony sure is managing to upset and stress out a lot of people. It kinda takes the fun out of it.
