my little horses
« on: July 10, 2012, 02:10:46 AM »
Hey all, I went to the Beijing toy market.  No actual ponies which is a shame (especially as I saw some comic con exclusives from other brands I'm not interested in... boo).  They did however have my little horses

soooooo... blatant.  Not a fakie collector, so they stayed behind.  But I thought some of you might be interested to see them.

Wow, they just steal moulds and redo them? The artwork looks unaltered too, only the logo is different.

and even then, not that different.  The do not look like they are great quality.  But I do think the new born cuties having long hair is kinda... cool?... weird?... something anyway.

Eh, well that's the Chinese for you. They try to make as much money as possible with spending as little as possible. God forbid they have original ideas!

Oh! Didn't know Hasbro was a Chinese company ;)

Hasbro as a company itself originates from the US, but just like all major toy companies, the major factories are in China and east Asia.

I think the NBs with hair are adorable.  If shipping was not hideous, I might ask you to get a couple.  Ah well.

As you can see, this thread has had multiple posts removed. This is not a thread to discuss the practices of various countries. This is a post about the finding of fake ponies.

Keep it on topic, or this thread will be locked.

The winking smiley was intended to indicate sarcasm. Sorry it wasn't quite clear.

On the subject: as someone who is very uneducated when it comes to G3/G3.5 I find those fakies to look incredible! If it wasn't for the different name and the missing Hasbro logo, I would have thought it was the real thing!

I love "The House of Happiness" text on the baby Pinkie Pie copy's box. What is that about? And of course, there's a picture of Scootaloo even though Pinkie is in the box!  These are actually really good copies though, because the accessories are actually relevant, and they didn't give baby Pinkie random things like a hat, a banana, and a fan, etc like some fakies get!
