I realise that she has Twilight's eyes.  But why did that happen?  Shouldn't she just have either gotten Lyra's eyes or Sunny Ray's eyes??  I don't understand how there is a third style of eye involved here.  I realise that happened with Trixie too, but I think that is just a finalisation of design here.  This doesn't seem that way at all.

I would guess they are truly mix n matches - not prototypes, not factory errors but test runs on colour combos or even just batch practices on certain lines...the mix ups are too random [but regular as there are multiple of the pony] to point to much else...as you say a finalisation of design or even a simple production test

Some sort of production test sounds right to me. But that would mean there are very limited numbers of these ponies. I wish we knew the exact number. I just won and auction for Trixie Shy on ebay. It would be cool to know if she was number 72 of 100 or whatever.

Isn't it kinda risky buying from that site because the messed up pictures might not be real and you end up with a normal character being shipped to you?

yeah, it's a bit of a risk, but as I live in China and I usually only end up paying $3 or so for a pony, I take the risk.  I'm also used to certain sellers and am able to communicate with them to check that the pony is the same one as in the picture.  I've only ever had the wrong pony shipped once, and in that situation what I got was not too bad anyway.  If I had to go through a buyer and pay international shipping I probably wouldn't take the risk.

What's more of a pain is the couriers.  They don't speak english, I don't speak chinese.  So when they ring I run downstairs to get a native speaker to talk to them, but they often hang up on me while I'm running down stairs.  It often takes 3 or 4 goes before I can put them on to someone.
