I feel like I%u2019m not the only one to ask this, but what happened to g5? This is like g3.5 in that I%u2019m not sure what%u2019s going on 

Honestly I'm not sure, either... Hasbro themselves are calling these G4.5, apparently, so between that and some other things, the general impression I'm getting is that these are just a "filler" line designed to keep MLP on the shelves while they work on G5, but idk if that's true or not.

(I really hope G5 looks better than this...)

Anime figures get delayed a lot, it's just what you come to expect when you start collecting anime figures. I tend to get at least one figure I order per month get delayed. Rarity had also gotten delayed, she was originally supposed to release in April and ended up releasing in June. Kotobukiya don't delay figures quite as much as other manufacturers do (a Hatsune Miku figure I ordered by Good Smile was originally set to be released in November of last year and ended up releasing in June instead), but I suspect the virus is causing more delays than normal.

I hope Pony Life's shelf-lifespan is not very long. I'm sorry, but these characters need a break and we need a return to proper horsey heads.

Pinkie and Mrs. Cake look fine in the box, but they're in a rearing pose, which looks really stiff and awkward... kinda broken?

And red is an interesting colour on Muffins...

No yellow on Cadence anywhere is disappointing. Not her crown, not her necklace, not even her hair? Is her crown really the same colour as her hair...?! What is also too bad, is that the frosting isn't even on the display side. You can choose ONE feature, the Cutie Marks, or the frosting!

I actually really like that set! I especially like that Mrs. Cake. Now if only they could make a brushable…

Yeah, that sounds definitely plausible. I feel like they’re maybe trying out something new in case kids really like it and if it doesn’t work, then it doesn’t. But meh, I’m so not enjoying the rehashing of the m6 either. Where are the cool ponies like they released at the start of g4?? Hasbro did this with G3 too. Towards the end, it was a lot of pinkie pie, Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash. At least they weren’t huge-headed cats

Ditzy's eyes are "wrong"... and red is NOT her colour. (Kinda looks like ketchup. Heh, her head looks like omurice.) To say nothing of poor Cadence.. I barely even recognize her! And that awful rearing pose...

Also why is this a "Unicorn Party Celebration" when only a few of them are unicorns? o_O I know they're trying to jump on the unicorn bandwagon, but that just seems weird.

It is a cute idea for a set, though.. nice to see some more non-M6 too, even if it's still no one *new*. And the molded manes look very nice, even if I prefer brushable hair personally. It's not a set I'm interested in, but I do think it's about the best G4.5 thing we've seen so far.

That's what I'm thinking as well. But even so, I still don't quite get their train of thought; why invest in new molds etc. for a filler line, Hasbro?

They could have reused the movie molds, make new characters, re-release some of the show's best episodes to keep MLP on tv. I mean, it's not like Pony Life is completely new and totally original. It's basically a cheaper rehash of FiM.

I don't really get what they're trying to accomplish with PL.

Edit to add a final frustration: I'm a little annoyed that we're not getting flutters because vendors didn't want to pick up the line, but stores were willing to pick up these feline mutations...

Also, the later G4 were really shelf sitting. It makes sense to revive the toys with new molds.
