I've never seen, like, a quarter of the stuff you've got over there Taffeta. But it's a shame a ton of it is old stock that we shouldn't be seeing ANYWHERE.

Haha yeah. I've not been in Nottingham area Entertainer but I have been through a few in the South East in my time living down there and I've seen even more ridiculous old stock in some of them (there is one that, no word of a lie, still has FriendshipGames EQG dolls.).

Some of the Toymasters still have rainbow rocks ones as well. And some of this is also still lingering in Smyths stores as well.

So definitely go raiding the UK toy shops. I've seen a lot of the movie stuff in multiple stores, so honestly, TAKE IT AWAY >< xD So sick of seeing it!


Though the musical Songbird did only turn up a couple of months ago so for Entertainer she's technically 'new'.

@Carrehz - I think Cheese Sandwich is now actually an employee at this branch of Entertainer, that's how long he's been here.

On the positive, I did manage to pick up a Muffins pony and Roseluck Mini on discount from this store the other week. And since that was the first time I'd seen either of them, I was quite happy, knowing they should have been retired a LONG time ago...

I have a strong suspicion Entertainer takes old stock from US stores sometimes as well. Because I have genuinely seen ponies on sale there before with TARGET EXCLUSIVE labels on them. -.-.

Taffeta - I picked up one of the EQG Minis from there recently, too. They were in Smyths for a short while, but I'd missed out on getting Bon Bon, so I'm glad Entertainer got them again.

and they definitely get old stock from outside the UK. I dunno how familiar you are w/ Novi Stars dolls, but the last wave of them were released in two places: Russia, and The Entertainer. Nowhere else in the UK, just that one store. No idea where they got the stock from, but they didn't last *that* long so it had to be old stock from somewhere.

I never saw the minis in Smyths but after I moved from North London I only had a chance to go there when visiting home, there wasn't one within range in South London. I was really looking for the Sunset Shimmer ones, but eh. Roseluck was pretty so I got her.

(Mind you Smyths used to get Spanish and scandinavian packaged EAH and MH dolls so I feel like the UK is just the world's toy dumping ground...)

By the way does a blind bag size pony figure called Aloe mean anything to anyone here??

B&M used to stock Zelfs with no English text on them. Toys R Us used to stock excess Pokemon toys from the US. In particular I remember one series where we jumped in at wave 3, we never received any of the other waves, just this one wave of plush that nobody in the US wanted. They stayed there for literally years, and TRU refused to discount them.

The UK does indeed seem to go with an instinctive "cheap toys, buy and put 'em up at high prices and make a profit" instead of questioning WHY they're letting them go so cheaply in the first place



On the subject of Cheese Sandwich - I worked at the Entertainer last year for Christmas, and I can confirm that they are chock full of Cheese Sandwich figures. They took up half of the MLP section in the backroom and sold very, very slowly.

Those pictures are really interesting. I’m pretty sure that Pinkie with the carousel was a Toys R Us exclusive in the US. I remember winding it every time I went to Toys R Us and listening to the MLP theme. It’s also interesting that there are still those Magic Scenes ponies on the shelves.

Pokemon's a weird one. About a year ago several different stores started carrying a bunch of these Pokemon keyrings from around 10 years ago (mostly Diamond/Pearl era but I did find some Ruby/Sapphire era ones too). GAME, Toys R Us and B&M all had 'em; someone must have found an old warehouse of them or something. I think they were about all my TRU had left when it was closing. Just rows and rows of the damn things. And has anyone else found those 90s Pokemon pullback toys in GAME this year, or is it just my area that has those?

And oh god, don't even get me started on those FiM Collection Apple sets!! They're everywhere!

They're very cute, actually! My one complaint is they smell like a shower curtain...it's very strong smelling. Leave them near the window when it gets colder for a few days so the smell freezes off.
Also, the keychain screw isn't glued in, so you can always keep them as figures and re-use the screw in another toy, it seems like they should stand on their own.
I wasn't at my home Target, I'll see if it's at the one nearby to see if I can grab Fluttershy and Twilight.

I was near the trading card section, there was a little section with some LOL and stuff, like an impulse buy section for kids near the front...I'll run by another Target tomorrow or Saturday and take a looksie over there. I still have to find the others.
