CANCELLED: How about a SATURDAY in AUGUST for a MICHIGAN Pony Meet?

UPDATE 06/03/2012:  Well folks, seems we didn't get off the ground with this suggested Meet so I am canceling plans, but good news, the meet suggested by suelovesmlp seems to be back up and in the planning stages (see her post in the corral), so I hope to see any and all that were interested there!

Hello Everyone!  I keep seeing threads for Maryland meets, the Pony Fair, Ohio meets, Minnesota meets, Wisconsin meets....and I don't know that I'll make any of those this year, and then us poor Michigan pony's, we seem to never get a firm plan for a Michigan meet.

There is a great, out of the way, nature park near me, where I can reserve and rent a fairly large covered area for $25 (plus a $25 refundable deposit which we get back if we don't trash the place, so no destructive pony's, lol) with tables and bbq grill.  If I rent the park, and charge just enough to cover the rental (I'll pay for the deposit, so hopefully $1 per person or less)...who's interested in coming? 

We can all bring our own food, bbq available if you like, and a dessert, or pop, or a bag of chips to share.  And anyone who would like to can organize an activity, and we can all bring pony's to sell/trade. 

The park is just a couple miles north of Rochester, Michigan, so you can figure out exactly how far away it would be for you.

If you are interested, let me know in this thread or pm me and I will start making a plan!  And if anyone frequents the TP and knows anyone from there that would be interested, feel free to let them know.  Let's make it happen Pony's!!!!  Thanks, 4Lindy

Depending on where you are in Troy, it shouldn't be more than a 1/2 hour drive for you Moony!

Awesome Mermaid!  I'm thinking a Saturday, I'm going to call the park today and see what dates they have the shelter available.  Will post up possible dates later today :-)

Alrighty Michigan pony's!  Park dates are booking up, so if you are interested in attending - please post your preferred dates.  As of right now, the following Saturday's are available.  July 14th, 21st, 28th and any Saturday in August.  Please let me know what dates would work for you!

Oh yes!  Everyone in the vicinity is welcome, Ontario, Ohio, if you can get here you are welcome!  This will be family friendly, my husband and 9 yr old daughter will be with me, there is a play park RIGHT next to the pavilion :-)

I think we can count out July as it will be too close to the fair, for those that are going.  And the first weekend in August is not great for me, so how about AUGUST 10th????  As soon as we get a few people that can make it, I'm going to book it and we'll start saying  SAVE THE DATE!  So who's with me, August 10th?????

Could we maybe do a sunday? Saturdays aren't good for me as I work every saturday I have every sunday off though!

Oh snap!  Sorry Mermaid, we (my family) can't do Sundays :-(   I know weekends are always tough!  If there's any way you can switch a shift or get a day off, we'd love to have you come!  Just let me know if you end up being able to come!
