Making plug hole in the head?

I'm trying to make more holes in my ponies head but whenever I stick a pin into it, it only makes a tiny hole. I've read about the things to use but it's not really working.
Any tips about making the holes bigger when making new ones?
Im sorry if this doesnt really make sense Im so tired atm

I just move the pin around & that makes it bigger.  Just try wiggling it in a circle when you first stick it in.

I use a sculpting needle. Its a thick needle in a wooden handle I got in a pack of sculpting stuff.

But you can make your new hole with a push pin, then leave the push pin in it while you ready your hair. Remove pin, insert hair. As long as the opening is there, it will work fine. Doesn't matter if it's a little tight.

Try using a push pin. Those are much thicker than needles, but not too thick. They work perfectly for me, not just making new holes, but loosening the preexisting holes.

I use a large safety pin, but I got tired of doing that, so I just straight up shove the hair through and create a hole at the same time with my rehairing tool

Try using a push pin. Those are much thicker than needles, but not too thick. They work perfectly for me, not just making new holes, but loosening the preexisting holes.

I do this too, it works really well.

I do a combination of Making a hole in the head with a push-pin, (or several pins and leaving them there for a few hours) or just ramming my rehairing tool into the plastic.

Rehairing ponies is really gruesome if you think too much about it. lol

I personally don't recommend ramming the tool into the plastic. If it's hard plastic, the blunt end is not strong enough to go through -- all that will happen, if you have a metal tool, is that the needle will push down into the tool itself, and you have to unscrew it and pull it back up. :I It's really annoying, and I hate when that happens. The hair falls out in the process, so you have to put the hair back in afterwards. In extreme cases, the needle might even break -- that's happened to me before, too. Just stick to making a hole with the push pin first.

That really depends on what tool you have. The ones I make are made from aluminum handles that have a solid base under the clamp. You will just snap the needle by pushing too hard. Also, I sand my needles at an angle to leave them sharp enough to poke through soft plastic. Hard plastic still needs opened up first.

Doesn't work for everything, may occasionally break, but I always just use my tool and I've never (in over 2 years) broken a needle. SO, it can be done
