The rules seem pretty fair. I'm glad about that.
And it does seem judges will pick out the grand winner.

"During the Judging Phase, a panel of qualified judges designated by Sponsor in its sole discretion will select the one (1) entrant with the highest-scoring Submission from among all eligible Submissions based on the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”):
 •Suitability for reproduction as an 18" model (40%);
•Creativity (40%); and
•Effective representation of the MY LITTLE PONY brand (20%)."

Only dissapointing part is the fact it's a "USA-only" competition.

Further proof that Hasbro seems to have no good ideas left when it comes to the G4 toys.
I should submit a pink unicorn with pink hair.  I'd win for sure!

If you use an Earthpony instead, you get bonus points in the field of suitability of reproduction, since it uses less plastic.

18" pony.. so basically sounds like the same kind of contest that was held and unveieled at the 2010 fair? That would be very cool for some. I might have to try some things out ^_^

I bet a lot of those submissions will just be background ponies instead of self designed ponies. XP

I was thinking about that. More creativity, less copypaste on a existent pony.

If they are background ponies they will be instantly rejected, as that goes against the contest rules.

Where did you you find these Malicieuse? I didn't see them post any additional info.

Edit: I see them at the bottom of the page nvm

So what gen is it supposed to be if it's an 18" pony? The big fashion styling G3? the bronies are going to have a fit  :P

I was reading through the rules and if you win you apprently get a trip to California in July (I'm assuming thats when comicon is) - that's around the same time as the fair in Florida, which is problematic -  thats the week right after the fair 11 thru 13.

Not that I'd ever have a chance to win, but I couldn't afford to win! LOL! There would be no way I could take vacation to florida for hte fair and then fly to california. I can't miss that much work!
Probably doesn't own a stolen piece of the Taj Mahal.

Haha, you're awesome!  And probably right.

I don't think this is going to be the Comic Con pony they'll be selling this year, though, right?  They never mass-produced and sold Rainbelle, the winning design of the 2010 design contest.  I'm guessing this is the same idea.

Pfft work! I'd go into negative time off if I had to! :P

Did they post like a template or an image of a blank pony model for the previous competition?

It's the tiny text underneath the picture. : ) I'm not sure why they made it that small. Seems pretty important to know all that stuff. XP
