So Princess Cadance is Princess Celestia's niece?

According to the facebook page for the Royal wedding invite, Princess Cadance is Celestia's niece and Shining Armor is Twilight's brother o.o A brother we didn't know about till recently.. So this will make Twilight and Celestia related by marriage of sorts...

My question... Where are these Nieces and Nephews coming from on Celestia's side? We know about Blue Blood being Celestia's Nephew (non-winged uni) and now it's confirmed that Candance is related to Celestia... So what unknown siblings -does- Celestia and Luna have to even have Nieces and Nephews I also find it funny that they only say it's Celestia's Niece/Nephew but never say Luna, unless they are somehow Luna's kids but that is impossible too!

The should have just called her Celestia's cousin or something. Because, yeah, unless Celestia and Luna have an older brother or sister that has never been shown (although, I guess their parents were never shown, either, so I guess it's possible) it doesn't make sense for her to have a niece.

Well they never got into more detail about Celestia... Luna at least has some sort of back story... Celestia not so much... so the idea for the random relatives makes me go 'huh?'

Yes, all so true! I've watched the shows over and over again (with the kids of course) and I keep wondering if I missed something. I know I get confused easily so I thought it was my fault. Guess not; it's just that they haven't explained it yet!

Erm, i don't think it's that wierd.  It's not as if the complete family tree of each character should be explained in the very first episode they appear in. XP Frankly, i like that they keep on expanding the families.

Eh! I forgot to change that to "Royal family members" instead of just "families" when I posted it. Sorry. Heh, anyway, what I really meant was the way they're creating the royal family, and how they've had to edit it because Hasbro tells them to, just makes it all seem funny. Any other pony's family showing up is cool.
