I thought of the sweetberry set:


Popular: Blueberry Baskets
Under-appreciated: Strawberry Surprise




It's funny because to me Strawberry Surprise seems to pop up less than Blueberry Baskets.  I love them both though- love ponies with matching hair and body colors 

Really? I had no idea that Strawberry Surprise was unpopular. She was on my wishlist before I was lucky enough to have her, and while BB is also lovely, I don't consider her a want at all.

Is it just me, or is Banana Surprise the most unloved G1 ever? I seem to see nothing but a lot of hate for her. That makes me sad... she's cute.

I agree with you about Bananna surprise, I saw her for sale for a $1 once no one bought that I know of..  Poor pony.

Sunshine ponies don't seem to get a lot of love :/ I think they are very cute and had Mainsail as a childhood pony, I still have her and love her, I remember staring at her changing hair for hours ^^ I wish I had a full set of these cuties! (I have planned a G4 version of them... need time and supplies now!)

I love several of the BBEs... well mostly the unicorns because their eyes don't look like they are bulging BBE Gusty will always be my fave though because she is my childhood pony!

I never had a BBE as a kid, so I've never seen one in person. But I love their freaky eyes! I just PMd someone on another forum that was selling a minty BBE Cuddles so I'll finally get to have one!

I love Banana Surprise, she's so pretty and actually smells pretty good, it's such a shame she's so unloved:(

Happy tails are another set over all I don't think get much love.

Glow n Shows Dazzle Glow seems to steal all of the attention but the rest are rather pretty:)

As a kid I had only one or two ponies from each set. I had 2 boys, I had 1 Rainbow Curl, I had 1 Twinkle Eye and 2 Flutters and 1 merry-go-round....

But I had ALL the Magic Message ponies! I dunno if I insisted on it, or if it was dad who wanted me to have a whole set of at least one type, but I loved being able to look at the backcard as a little kid and see that I had all that were shown there. And I loved making the symbols change all the time!! Cloud Dreamer definitely my favorite. Hidden dragon!

Of course, they were played with hard and they're not in great shape now, but I still have them, along with all my childhood ponies. ^_^

Why no love for Sunnybunch? Cuz she couldn't stand up on her own, maybe? lol. (She was the one merry-go-round I had, of course.)

As for the second set of Unicorns, Gusty is VERY popular, while Sparkler, or maybe Skyflier are the ones no one talks about. Skyflier probably less than Sparkler if only for the latter being Rarity's prototype.
Likewise, in the first set, no one seems to care about Sunbeam. Probably because she's not white, not popular from the cartoon, and she's in an unpopular pose.


Edit I never knew Banana Surprise was so unloved, she was my first G1! D:

Well.. I guess none of the MB's are really unpopular, But I think some are just more popular that the others.

Late input is late.  Speedy may not be popular, but darn it I'd kill for her now. She was my second fave pony growing up, but got lost with all my other ponies in a move.
