UKers: anyone else had problem with RIDICULOUSLY late mail?!

I mean....3 weeks to get a 1st class item which usually takes 1-2 days MAX....

I am currently waiting on 9 parcels, all from within the uk, most of them purchased over 10 days ago and one of them was purchased on the 28th feb! It's starting to grate on me now, as I have last minute bits I purchased for swap items that are taking an age to get here and I need them asap!

Geez o.O Touch wood, I don't think I've ever had time problems like that with Royal Mail... In fact I'd say we have one of the best mail systems I've dealt with. If I were you, I'd be after proof of postage from your sellers, and also checking with the post master at your local PO or main parcel sorting office.

I am, but its a bit of a different situation. I'm waiting for my Student Finance letter to come through so I can get applied for next year, was supposed to arrive end of Feb but still waiting.

That's ridiculous!! Are you having any issues with overseas parcels? Have you been in contact with your local Post Master? I sure would be talking to someone to see what the hold up is!

Seems all my inbound and outbound parcels are late (please ignore my location - these were all sent from or going to UK)

Yup...I sent out about 5 parcels last Thu/Fri mostly first class in the UK and no one has received yet....lol one is headed to you Party and I ll assume from this post it hasn't reached you yet either!!!

First and second class seems to be taking about double the amount of time than normal...

lol Cat no worries, your parcel to me is the most recent thing apart from some ebay wins today and yesterday, so I'm not worried about that it's the ones I purchased last month that are worrying me

So it's not just me then, sorry to hear you are all having mail problems too ....Royal Mail are getting worse...lets hope we all get our mail very soon!

I haven't personally, but I know that customers returning parcels to us by Royal Mail have been getting frustrated about how long it all seems to be taking at the moment.

Hmm. Maybe something did kick off. From Royal Mail's website:

Normal deliveries and collections took place across almost all of our network yesterday and will continue as normal today. Any service affecting incidents are reported on our regional pages and these will be updated as necessary throughout the day.

Thats so frustrating!  3 weeks for 1st class mail within the UK is ridiculous.  Royal  Mail does seem to be super slow at the moment    . I sold some stuff on ebay recently, but quite a lot of buyers havent had their items yet as far as i know   .. in fact  an item I mailed out to a buyer 2 weeks ago arrived back here to ME yesterday, instead of it being delivered to the buyer!     *headesk*  I had to send it again  (thankfully they didnt charge me again when I took it back to the PO)
I dunno whats going on with them - no-one at the PO has said there has been any issues in particular, but who knows *sigh*    Checking with your local PO might be a good idea   I hope that your parcels start showing up soon!

Oh boy, I have a couple UK packages that were sent a couple days and a couple weeks ago. I do hope they make there.

I know for a fact that parcels from the US to UK and Germany are taking forever.
 
I did have one girl email and tell me her post man told her there was a pretty serious accident with a mail truck.  And it had mail backed up, so who knows?

The packages I've been getting from the UK have either come really fast or taken forever. There's no in between!

i live in the us and i bought a dvd from italy, a month later i figure they lost it so i have the seller send me another ,a month later the replacement made it. but the longest i have ever waited for mail is this one time i bought a dvd from germany. it took, 3 MONTHS to make it to me!!!!!

my mom has me beat though this one time someone mailed her a check and it took 6 YEARS to make it!!!! it came with a letter saying it got stuck in a sorter and they only found it when they was getting rid of it because it was worn out!

I had a 1st Class parcel delivered the next day (reached the buyer yesterday) so maybe things are improving?
