Hair question
« on: March 10, 2012, 11:26:25 AM »
I've been doing customs for over a year and I have a question: how do you get the hair to 'behave' once it's been boil permed? Whenever I take the stuff that's holding the hair down it's like it gets frizzier by the minute. And I live in Oregon so it's not even dry here. In other people's photos the hair looks PERFECT like an ad for Treseme.
I would love any tips or hints at all... :) Also any 'don't do this' stories :)
Thanks all :)

When I have frizzy curls that have been boil permed, running cold water over them helps to tame friz. This does result in a slightly looser curl though.

For straw curls I lightly condition the hair first, rinsing most of it out but not all. Then it's just careful curling and careful removal of curling supplies. If they don't come out right I wash them out, curse, and do it again. If the ends look bad I snip off the bad bits.

Thanks, Maniah! I will definitely try those :) Especially the cursing...
