Help my poor Caribbean Delight and Beach Belle!
« on: March 06, 2012, 04:57:44 PM »
I am fortunate enough to have these beauties that I snagged in a hidden lot years ago, but their hair was played with by the previous owner and it's frizzy and dry on the ends. Because they're valuable and lovely otherwise, I'm scared to do anything drastic or untrustworthy to fix the problem, but they'd look so much better if I could smooth their hair.

What are your reliable, proven hair-fixing tips that are least likely to cause harm to these girls? What should or shouldn't I do to fix them?

I'm not sure if it's allowed to post this link, so if not, apologies in advance, and please remove the link, but there is a papragraph here describing how she straightens frizzy hair:

Or google "my little pony styling tutorial" and it should pop up near the top.:-)

Thank you! I've never tried to fix valuable pony hair before as I don't have many valuable ones. xD

I would suggest some of the cleaning tutorials in the custom forum!

 Best of luck to you!

I'd try slathering them with conditioner and leaving them to sit for a week or longer.  Be patient.  Then gently comb them and rinse.  I've had it work pretty will on frizzy G1s before.  Good luck!

I've had really good luck using a electric straightener on my ponies. I was even able to de-frizz a McDonald's pony with it. As long as you make sure the hair's really wet, it shouldn't cause any damage.

Try lots of conditioner first. If needs be, run the conditioned hair through low temperature straightners (not GHDs!) and the conditioner will help to protect the hair.
