Look What The Mean Post Did To My Parcel!

Now a small unwrapped accessory in a paper envelope was fighting against the odds to get from Germany to UK safely anyway...but receiving an empty envelope is a new one on me!


The seller is going to speak to the German post office...but has anyone ever had something similar happen? And had any luck with getting money from the post service which caused the damage?

Ug that sucks! Sorry that happened hun! I've only ever had damaged letters arrive in those plastic packets. I hope the seller can help you sort it out

Rawr!!!!!! Postal systems can be pitas regardless of where in the world you are!! I've never gotten an empty envelope, but I've had more than my fair share of damaged parcels come through the USPS. I feel your frustration.

Sooo sorry for your loss. I'm glad to hear that your seller is filing a complaint; it's the only thing that can be done with postal services sometime.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope you are able to work it out. It happened to me with a plush toy that was in a regular white envelope. All I got were fragments of the envelope with rubberbands and mis-delivery stamps and such. Nothing could be done because the seller didn't offer insurance and since I was a bit of a novice at the time when it came to dealing with packages from other countries, I didn't think to ask.

I had it happen once with a parcel I sent.  It was a lip gloss and the corner got tore like that and oviously fell out.  I think it happened when it went through the sorter.

oh noes! sorry Cat! how disappointing      I havent had this happen to me personally (its been close a few times though , which is why i generally ask for extra tape on my parcels)  , but I have seen a thread like this before.  The only thing you can do is have your seller file a complaint with the German PO . Royal mail will not let you file the complaint as they are saying that the item was damaged before it got to the UK. It says priority on the front of that envelope - I'm not quite sure how that works in Germany, but it may mean that your item has some kind of insurance

This has happened to me twice when I've ordered clay from Aves Studios in America. Empty envelopes:(
I'm a bit of a problem customer for them Because 3 out of 6 orders so far have gone AWOL. They wrap my packages in plastic now lol:)

It's happened to me twice actually.
Accessories should never be sent in regular envelopes because they go in with letters then and the sorter will squeeze the contents out.

It was just a little german sipper cup - so not the end of the world but in all honestly the seller has been good

First she messaged to say German mail would do nothing about it because I should have refused to accept the delivery [ummmm...this was put in my post box by the post man when I was at work...no recorded/signed for delivery so dont think I really have a choice on refusing or accepting]. When I politely pointed that out she said she would refund...so hopefully thats what she ll do...I feel kind of guilty that she is out of pocket on the accessory and the shipping but it was so badly packaged that for a change I dont mind the seller taking a hit on this one...different if it had been a ripped open padded envelope or something similar but a paper envelope was not odds on good that it would get here.

That's why i tape every corner of a paper envelope with tape!
I got yesterday a book in the mail....luckely it arrived but the whole envelope was torn apart on 3 corners...
