Cleaning a princess pony w/ mold
« on: March 03, 2012, 05:44:59 PM »
So, I got a Tiffany with nasty mold. Normally, I'd toss her in an oxyclean bath, but other than the mold, she has nice symbols and tinsel, and don't want to ruin them. Can anyone offer any recomendations as how to clean her?
Thanks!

I would just gently scrub her with soap, toothpaste, or some other cleaner. You can get into the legs partially with a small brush, like a toothbrush. I've also poured diluted peroxide (non-chlorine bleach) inside and let it sit if the mold is just inside. You might be able to do that with oxyclean too.

I'd avoid oxy clean with her symbol having that nice translucent film (not sure what it does to tinsel-if anything).
I agree with Elisto, try some good 'ol antibacterial hand soap, then if she's still gross I'd recommend some baking soda toothpaste and a tooth brush or even a bottle brush. Baking soda toothpaste gets grubby stuff out really well, helps with rust and makes pony smell minty fresh! Try to not scrub her outer symbol!!!
If you do fill her up with peroxide I don't know if that will do anything to her symbol paint, even on the inside.
Good luck!

Dawn soap is great for mold! It contains a chemical that's supposed to break it up, so I use it on all of my moldy ponies.
