the eyes are symmetrical... it just didn't show as well head on.

They still look shy to me. Personally I don't like blind bag Fluttershy being a recolored Rainbow Dash in every way but the eyes and colors.

I think most of us can agree that it was totally dumb that Fluttershy didn't get her own pony mold. I mean... come on. Her hair (especially her bangs) looks nothing like Rainbow Dash's. Fluttershy deserves better than to be a palette swap. It's especially insulting that her trading card is also just a recolor of Rainbow Dash's lol. Is she supposed to be young Fluttershy or something? Who did Hasbro think they were fooling?

I have FlutterS from Wave 3 and her eyes look a little more upright but not major different - different batches, slightly different production I guess

lol no. Fluttershy has Rainbow Dash's pose and mane and tail style in the blind bag version so it's definitely not the other way around.

I remember hearing it was really difficult for McDonald's to make a mold of Fluttershy when they released her because of her hair, so you can't really blame Hasbro too much.

Yeah, the tops of her eyes look tilted inward to me.  Mine looks the same.
