I have quite a few fakies in my pony collection, but they all seem really low quality and ugly compared to the real thing. So when I recovered this one I thought she was really cute! She looks a lot like an MLP (I'm assuming she was made out of an MLP mould) but has a few weird attributes... her waist is slimmer, her eyelids are painted, and her mane is really thick, specially compared to her tail which is so scarce! The quality doesn't seem very different to the mlps, and her hair has definitely kept better

Edit...Spanish Sugarberry in the background however is stealing the show for me!

So they're "Petite Ponies"! Thanks for the photos, ponylady. My ponies were instantly ripped out of their cards when I was a child, no MIBs or MOCs for me! I'm truly surprised my ponies are still in one piece after playing the s**t out of them!

If I remember correct this blue one would be a Simba pony and it originally had part of the mane plaited and tied with a light pink ribbon. It's definitely a vintage one, older than the ones in the "Petite Pony" package.

Yep, it must be from the late 80s since I seem to remember it being one of the last ponies I got as a child. It must have been a gift from someone since my parents knew better than to buy me a fake My Little Pony xD


Oh, and it was almost certainly bought in Spain, so Petite Ponies must have been distributed worldwide big time.

Crumpet pose fakies! Colorscapesart has a big ol' collection of them I think, that's probably who hathorcat is thinking of? That's who I talked to about the ones I used to have if I remember correctly! They're pretty cool, especially the pink ones lol.


One thing about most fakies is that lots of different "brands" make them. So theyre not all from "Petite ponies" I don't think. For some reason it's just a really popular mold to rip off, haha. And Csa told me that if you look closely you sometimes can see an indent sort of of the original pony's symbols. o.O The silly people who casted a mold for the fakies never removed the original symbols.

They aren't just sold as Petite Ponies, they are sold under lots of names with a rainbow of colors. They are made with the G1 Seaflower mold (which is also Crumpet's mold) and are often called crumpet fakies or "frumpets" because a great many of them are yellow. If you look closely at their hips you can sometimes make out a faint seashell imprint that is part of Seaflower's symbol. Oh, and they are still sold to this day at various dollar stores and sometimes Big Lots.

Wow, you're right, I can see the seashell imprints! Noticed them yesterday but thought it might be from cheap plastic being in contact with something.


She even has a bit of plastic molded over one of her hooves, maybe to cover up the "Hasbro" imprint. She does have the "Made in" and "China lettering
