Concerned about my purchase on ebay
« on: February 23, 2012, 07:43:01 PM »
I bought a Spectra MH on ebay, I went to look at the status of it just now and the seller "is no longer a registered user". They have a 97.8% positive feedback so I don't think I was scammed, but it seems quite scary. I cannot access the auction to get a tracking number, I cannot do anything because the auction and user do not exist anymore.
Has anyone run into this before?

Well I went to paypal and got her email address and sent her a very friendly email. I didn't get all aggressive, I just explained that I noticed she wasn't a registered user and hoped things were going alright with her and I just wanted to touch base and see if she shipped it.  I mean there are many reasons someone could become a unregistered user with ebay right? Doesn't mean she's evil and full of spite and scam.

This happened to me once. Ebay deleted the user's account for some reason, but they sent me an email and my item got home safely. :)

That happened to me and the seller was actually wonderful and I got my item just fine. I hope things work out for you, but I'd definitely open a case with ebay and paypal if your item doesn't turn up. I think there's like a 45 day limit.

Thank you guys for making me feel better. The estimated date of arrival (Though I am not sure if that's really calculated by anything since I cannot access the tracking number or if it was even sent) says Feb 23-29. That's a huge span of time, but hopefully things will work out.

Oh good luck but remember you can only file a claim with PayPal up to 45 days from payment!

 I know how you must feel right now.

I had it happen once but like lil.cutie.pie mentioned it was because they did not pay their ebay fee's.  And I still got my item  :)  So hopefully this is the case.

Hopefully your seller gets back to you.  And like Kaoskat said be mindful of that 45 day window with Paypal if you need to open a dispute.

If the seller went NARU in a sea of negs then I would open the claim ASAP, but if there werent any obvious issues before the seller went NARU, then it could just be that they havent paid their fees or something was up with their listings etc   :awake:.  You did the right thing emailing the seller to see what happened :bigups:  There is a good chance that your item will arrive without any problems, but as mentioned, keep an eye on the 45 deadline from when you sent the payment ;)
