Peek-A-Boo Baby head removal?
« on: February 22, 2012, 06:37:29 PM »
I just found a very nice Baby Ribbs at a local flea market, but he has the start of tail rust. I remember seeing a thread or tutorial on how to remove the heads but I can't track it down for some reason. Does anyone have a link or can anyone give me some pointers? I'm so afraid I'll break the mechanism and I also don't want to cut or tear the plastic.  :yikes: Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hot water, and a lot of patience is needed! It took me about 30 minutes to get the head off Leaper to rehair :faint:

The tutorial was in the customs forum on the old site, I am not sure that it transferred over though...

It's possible, I've done it several times.

 Let me find the tutorial.

I would second the concept of "slow determination" and hot water....and then suddenly it will pop off!

Good luck...I think I had to have about 3 tries at a Baby Whirly Twirl once

I've done it - takes patience and a spoon.  :)  Bit harder than a normal head seam, but hot water will help!

I've done it. I admit, I'm not picky as long as they're clean!
I rip and pull at the seam/knob. Then gently place head back on, sometimes I pick them up and gasp, the heads fall off. One day I'll glue everything back together... lol.
