To start, Crystal Lace (one of Pop's favourite poses) was given a repose inspired by watching my kittens play - you know that adorable thing kittens do when they leap up to grab things in the air in front of them?? Well, I tried to do something similar - I wanted the pony to look like she was rearing up to play with the ladybird on her nose
Both back legs were reposed, one of her front ones has a slight repose and the other was rounded off. Her gem was cut out, sculpted over and the whole thing was sanded back nice and smooth.
Her body was then airbrushed its base colours (white and purple, both custom mixed) and the lace work was laid down. She was then airbrushed again (tan and green, both custom mixed). I had some massive issues when I was finished though - the colours I'd used just didn't work with her hair colours as well as I'd hoped. I reapplied the lace on her legs as best I could, decided it wasn't working like I wanted, so I got rid of the lace and gave her legs an all over spray of a custom mixed aqua colour, and her body got a spray of white to lighten up the colour on top and make it more subtle. I was eventually happy - I like that in places on her leg gradients you can see the green act as a really pretty almost highlight.
The butterflies are all handpainted and I was really happy with how they turned out. I tried something new as far as my detail painting went, and I loved the effect
I decided to do her eyes with brown lashes, as I was aiming for a soft delicate look to the pony and didn't want to use black anywhere but her pupils. I really love the way her eyes/lashes look - theres 3 or 4 different shades of brown in there for definitions and highlights.
The little ladybird was sculpted and has wire antenae. I did paint a tiny face on her because she was too cute to be faceless
Technical stuff:
All sculpting (repose, ladybird) was done with Magic sculpt.
Completely painted and airbrushed using artist grade acrylics.
Rehaired with Restore Doll katsilk Sea Glow, Evergreen, Fairy Lights, Purple Passion and Dollyhair's Ice White Saran.
Sealed with Testor's dullcote everywhere and Triple thick gloss (for the eyes and ladybird).
Crystals are a combination of various swarovski and flatbacks.
her dA is

Pop has squee'd a bit, so I'm pretty sure she likes her
I can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks of her too!
