Talking to ponies...
« on: February 20, 2012, 01:18:55 PM »
So, I've started talking to my ponies. I have a few favorites I keep next to my bed and sometimes I brush their hair and talk to them a bit. I've also noticed that they are very good therapists. Have I lost it? I'm sure someone else talks to ponies too, right?
Thanks devonshireRed for the avi!

I occasionally talk to mine when I am cleaning them, and also when I knock them off a shelf ('omg I'm so sorry!' *fixes pony's hair, puts her back, and pats her head*)  I've noticed I talk to my pullip much more than my ponies <.< lol

Lol, I'll talk to my customs as I'm creating them.  Mostly griping when they won't cooperate!

I also apologize when I knock down ponies.  :P  I talk to them too when I'm taking photos or setting up displays..."Bowtie, you stay here...Sweet Tooth, stand up...where's CJ?"

I talk to myself and I guess my ponies listen if that counts. I'll say sorry when I knock them over or tell them how beautiful they look as well, but I don't think I have ever had a full on conversation with them. You're not crazy, though.

I've been going through a busy and stressful period of my life lately and I was in a rage one day...and knocked over my G4s....So I naturally spent an hour in my room fixing their hair and started -talking- to them....Now, I've realized that as odd as it was when I realized I was talking to a toy, it calmed me down and I was able to think of a rational solution.

It's perfectly fine to talk to inanimate objects especially if it helps you think straight sometimes!

Though....side note that is totally off-topic, I was leaving work one day and a lady was trying to feed a pastry to a bulldog sitting on the table. She was talking to it and I happened to glance over... Only to realize it was a porcelain, fake bull dog. O_o Just...yeah, just don't do that. <_<;;; I was scared.

edit: when I say "rage" more like I was crying and shut the door too hard and the shelf spilled in my floor. I did not do that on purpose. :(

I don't think the reason is you are going crazy..
in fact it is considered heathy to talk to someone, even it is made of plastic, as it allows you to voice your mind and feelings in a safe way.
And I'm not tuning this up in my head as this is what a professional therapist has told to me.

I don't do it much. I did protest at Roseluck when she fell off of her perch on my desk lamp earlier today.
