Omg G2 art! (plus G1 Sunlight)

There is a troubling lack of G2 art. But they're kind of hard to draw, which is why I haven't really done any successful 2 stuff before. But I finally managed to come up with something! I was inspired by Dragonfly's beautiful colors (despite my lack of love for purple) but she didn't look as pretty in artwork form as her toy did. So I changed the colors to match my favorite US release G2, Sky Skimmer. And then I realized that their symbols matched and they'd make really good BFFs, so I used both versions in the same picture.

The rainbow I stole from google though. Who likely stole it from a MLP box I know it looks tacky just stuck in there but I really wanted the logo darn it!


And here's a piece of attempted G1 art too. (Colors and brightness are crap because it was a photo-- otherwise the glitter wouldn't show.) It...didn't come out quite like I'd hoped. Probably because bristol isn't really for watercoloring... >_>

Even though I was trying to stick to very specific styles for both pieces, I didn't use any references...So considering that, I think they came out looking fairly close-ish to what I was going for...just not spectacular by any means. But that's okay because they were both kind of experiments

There really isn't much G2 art, yours looks super cute!    The G1 piece looks good too, minus the weirdness from the camera    Glitter is so much fun but soooo impossible to scan and photograph!

Zenna- I know, right? The only way I can get glitter (or anything shiny) to look decent is to scan the picture and then edit the glittery part in photoshop to make it look like something other than a black blob! But I didn't have the patience or energy for it with this picture
