Difference Between The Us and european FiM Blindbag Cards
« on: February 15, 2012, 05:04:50 AM »
Im starting with this investigation. Since most of the Us Arena members are having Blindbag Ponies around your state. And to confirm each fact.

To start, Pepper Dance's European card has green hair, while on the us ver, her red mane matches with the toy.

Second, Minty's European card description artwork prtrays her as Pegasus Pony, while the toy shows her as an Earth Pony. And I want to know if Minty's Us card fix the artwork.

And last, im seeking for the Non-Mane (+ Lily Blossom) Us Blindbag card stories. If Anypony can help, youre welcome!

It's interesting to see that the European blind bag ponies' cards don't always match the toy. I wonder if the card artwork was what was originally intended.

According to the European blindbag box, Minty was supposed to be a Pegasus, but, dhe shares same fate as Pinkie.

According to the European blindbag box, Minty was supposed to be a Pegasus, but, dhe shares same fate as Pinkie.

Wouldn't that just be because they re-used the artwork for the box? Minty always was an earth pony and the ones found on taobao (the brushable ones) are also just earth ponies. In this case i don't think they ever really intended Minty to be a pegasus. The only reason Pinkie sometimes appears as a pegasus is because she was originally Surprise. Who was a pegasus. Same with Fluttershy/Posey.

Anyways, that's pretty interesting. Would love to see a full guide one day.

I was saying about her european Blindbag card. Specifically, on the back, she has Rainbow Dash's Doppelganger Artwork, while on the front, she's on Applejack design.  Pepper Dance's hair is an interesting case too. If anypony has more info about the Us blindbag, plz! help!

That's really interesting, I didn't know about those variations.  I don't have any of the European cards to compare with but I have most of the US ones so I took some scans for you~ with whats out so far I am only missing the normal release core ponys (except applejack) and sugar grape.

I did notice that the card colors are different on the back of the toys r' us set~ they are lighter and don't have number stamped into the bottom of them- as shown with the two applejack cards below. also note the difference on the backdrop for applejacks card.

I made a thread that lists the blind bag ponies' stories. I'll see if I can find it and bump it up.

And I remember someone mentioning once that they thought Pepperdance looked better with green hair like on her card, but I didn't know what they were on about since her card has red hair, same as her toy. Now I know. I agree though, so far this generation of MLP is severely lacking the color green and that would have been a perfect application of it, matching her symbol and everything. Such a shame.

Sweetie Blue and Lily Blossom's European card has their coat lighter. Did you know that some of the Blindbag ponies Cutie Marks are sightly different from their Playful version (Namely Lily Blossom, Cheerilee, Dewdrop Dazzle and Sweetie Swirl) or the mane color has a different pattern (Rainbow Flash, Twinkle Shine, Snow Catcher and Rainbow Dash). I remember there was a pic of Minty as a Pegasus.

I didn't notice Sweetie Blue's Eye color and Lucky Swirl's mane differs between versions before. TRU Flutershy and Dash's artwork cards are put backwards.

Not just Lucky Swirl's mane, but the light-colored horseshoe in her symbol has turned dark!

Good catch on Sweetie Blue's eyes though.  I can't even see the difference on the back cards.  Does anyone have the toys to compare as well?

I noticed Minty and Bumblesweet have a lighter shade on their coats.
