Yup, this crazyness has been going on since...I don't even remember, last summer? It's the bronies I think. For some reason they don't mind paying amounts like that and even seek out custom plushies to buy. I have seen them sell for more than $1000.Oldbie G1 collectors wouldn't believe it when they first saw it, then they hurried to their sewing machines I guess. I would do that myself I had the time and the skills lol
My friends keep telling me to attempt making some because I do a lot of sewing and used to make teddy bears/plushies all the time. I don't think I want to though. Plus I live a smoking household (not me D:) and as I recently learned, ALL my clothes smell of it so I'd imagine the fabrics I work with do too.
No matter what the plushies go for they cant be as high as that Rainbow Dash costume lol....I dont usually judge but SERIOUSLY!!!
Yep, these go for a LOT. There was a Fluttershy gala plush that went for 2.5k USD. There was also a Rainbow Dash plush, measuring at about four feet tall, that sold for nearly 5k USD. If I had a sewing machine, I would be churning out plushies like there's no tomorrow
What I really love about the pony community is all the gusto fans have to make show-accurate items. On some other pony site, there is a thread with details on how to make your own plushy or how to make your brush-able Apple Jack a cowgirl hat. I think it's great that people are getting creative. These homemade plushies so so much better than the licensed ones. If people want to bid up to that amount, that is okay with me. It is made by the pony community and fans FOR the fans.
