Trading Question
« on: February 13, 2012, 05:04:02 AM »
Just a quick question for ya'll. /Applejack voice

I'm thinking of in the near future, probably when I'm done with college in a few months of maybe offering to trade art for ponies. Now I just want a bit of advice on how to do it, I've done art trades in the past and pony trades but never 'art for ponies' trades.
I'm guessing that I would have to create my half, (the artwork) before the pony was sent? Or at least have some form of WIP to show?

I've done ponies for art trades with some fantastic artists here. In my couple of cases the artwork was digital and once the art was completed and I was happy with the finished product I sent the ponies as payment. In the case of traditional artwork on paper I would expect to ship at the same time, just like a normal trade.

  Good luck and happy trading!!!

This is what I think too :) ^^  If you are doing digtal art, then do it first and when your partner is happy with it, then they send ponies as payment.  If its traditional art then you both ship at the same time once your partner has seen the work (and you've seen the ponies)  and you are both happy with it  :relaxed:

i assume that its like a normal trade, and if they don't hold up their end of the bargain, you leave appropriate feedback

Thanks for the advice, I'm thinking chances are I'd be doing digital work. I may do something like the inital sketch and get approval and then go from there.
