Storing accessories
« on: February 12, 2012, 09:02:05 PM »
How does everyone store their accessories?

I'm trying to keep mine nice and organised, but I've somehow failed at that.   They've managed to migrate out of my closet and now they live all over the place!

I was thinking of separating them into plastic bags, but then I vaguely remembered reading that you shouldn't store them that way (or maybe it was ponies)? Could someone maybe confirm this?  :)

I'm determined to be more organized with my G4's than I was with the G3's.  As soon as I debox a pony, their accessories get put in a ziplock baggie and labled.  I have a box I'm keeping them all in.

I do this exactly! I also keep all the pamphlets too! Oh and I save backcards, which go into a different box from the accessories

I have all of mine in a plastic zipping bag thing. xD Before they were stored in a G4 FS Pinkie box, but after Christmas I had so many accessories I needed to move most to a different container. Now the FS Pinkie box holds cardboard "accessories" and big pieces. I was going to store everything separately in plastic baggies, but we just don't have the money for that. Which is fine with me since the only accessories I really want are G4 animals and G1 baby stuff.

Mine aren't even remotely organized, sadly.  They all just live in one big happy plastic pony accessory container, further divided into little plastic baggies.

But the princess accessories live in a purple princess box that I got from Target's dollar section.  :)

With the ponies of course - out on display!

I have seen some people tie combs/brushes around pony necks with a little ribbon - thats kinda cute and keeps ponies and accessories together....mine just sit side by side on a shelf

If a pony only came with a brush i will put 4-6 brushes in a ziplock bag and in permanent marker write down the ponies name and which color brush it came with.

If a pony came with a bunch of accessories ill make one specific bag for that pony and write the ponies name on it.

Also if they came with a barrette or clothing ill do the same as i do with brushes and put multiple in one bag and make sure to write down what is what.

After that all the ziplock bags get put in a small plastic storage container.

I have all of my G3 accessories in labeled plastic bags. I also have a huge bin of labeled hair brushes from G3. I haven't been very dedicated with organizing my G4 accessories, mostly because I haven't unboxed most of the ponies. I don't think I have space to have the labeled plastic bag system unless I find very small bags rather than the snack-sized resealable sandwich bags that I used for the G3 ponies.

I'd love to have mine out on display but I just don't have the space :(
Mine are in little plastic baggies I originally got for my jewellery sales.  The G1 things have stickers with the pony name and the G3s I got lazy and they just have it in marker pen.  There's also food bags for the larger pieces or for lots of them.  The barrettes are in the ponies hair though :) as long as they don't fall out then they get taken away for being naughty :p

I display them with my ponies, but for the ponies I don't have yet, I bought a bunch of little ziplock baggies. I labeled each bag with which accessory belongs to which pony.
