I hate it! I want to buy the set and it would be the first playset I would purchase since G3 Meadow Lark's Grocery Store. I want it but not with that hair. It's so....icky looking!

Pleeeeease let it just be a prototype! OMG, frizzy-haired boys ... my poor ticker can't take it! :P But at least it's a boy! A boy who I may have to look for doubles of, so I can give him PROPER hair ... ;)

Eh, it doesn't bother me that much.

I'd prefer normal pony hair but I'm just so excited to have boy ponies again that I don't really care - and I don't think it looks too bad.

its his expression that gets me  he looks like he's getting a case of second guessing himself . doesn't look too happy

I was thinking gas.

I wonder if there's any sort of material that could serve as a piece of scalp, be rooted locked-loop style and inserted. I supose you could diy some nylon wefts to shove in to the gap if you wanted to do it that way. I'd much prefer if it's glued on a smooth head or into a shallow groove that wouldn't be visible if rooted through.

While I too prefer they used regular nylon hair, I honestly don't mind troll hair for the boys. I actually think it's kind of appropriate and looks alright. *dodges huge cluster of fakies coming my way*
Troll hair can be styled into spikes and stuff that will stay like that on its own. The average boy in fim has straight hair with 'pointed' ends and I think that troll hair is more suited for that kind of styling.

We love our classic boy ponies with long flowing hair yes-- but in this case the current generation of mlp is the most stylized and cartooniest yet. (not counting 3.5, but there were no boys made for that line) This is the first time a significant change has been made to a pony's face to distinguish male from female--and it's a huge difference (angular lines, chunkiness, smaller eyes etc)
I think with the new mold there should be appropriate hair to go with it.. This pony looks manly, and with regular long wavy pony hair I really think he would look silly given the level of manliness in his face. Ponies on more realistic levels like G1 and G2 were fine with boys and girls having the same hair. When I was young I didn't even know that my boy ponies were boys, just like it would be difficult to tell the gender of a real live horse by looking at its face.

I also think that children will enjoy the 2 different kinds of hair there are for the ponies if these get released. I imagine they will have an equally fun time styling troll hair as opposed to regular pony hair as they are both different and can have different things done with them. *pictures spiky hair sticking out in all directions that kids will come up with*

I dunno why but suddenly I am wondering how girl ponies would look with a longer version of the troll-like fake fur hair.

That is the first thing I thought when I got a good look at the toy.  Well I supose someone will fix his hair eventually.

I'm curious to see him in fornt of me in fact.

At first I'd tend to think I don't like that hair too, but I'm really curious... Maybe it could look great.

And, hey, girls : he's the first boy unicorn EVER !

I need him for sure !

I actually quite like it. I'm slightly concerned that it might be a little wispy and need a little trim perhaps, but I think it suits him, and I wouldn't be upset if all G4 boys are done like this.

I would prefer long pony hair over short hair for sure (for all the obvious reasons). If you don't want it long, you can always just snip it off, for goodness' sake! It's a lot harder to have to give a pony longer hair than just cutting it to the length you want it. >_<

EDIT: And I wanted to mention that I don't mind the texture of the hair (mohair type texture is fine by me, since- as mentioned- it is easier to style, especially for kids), but I certainly don't want it to be that short.
((D: Waaaahhhhh)) lol
