Why, why why Hasbro!?!?!?

They finally give us a boy pony after sooooooo many years , then ruin him by giving him nasty acrylic-frizz troll hair!

And of all the ponies to do it too, a regal prince?!?! - whome I would presume would make a little bit of an effort on his wedding day! Instead of perfectly groomed slick and stylish mane and tail, he looks like he has had a sleepless night, after a pretty rough night out with the boys on his bachelor party!

If I was Princess Cadence it would be a great big ' I don't!' from me!

Aww, I actually kind of like it. X3 I hadn't thought of it as troll hair, but more like mohair-hair. Now that you've mentioned it, though, it does look like the hair used for trolls~ (But I think I still don't mind too much.)

I have not decided if I like his troll hair or not yet...I think I will have to see it in person, it could be cute!

He might not have that when they box them up for sale.  These are prototypes, and it would not be the first time Hasbro made changes during production.

I'm not a fan of it and I'm hoping that it's just a prototype.

Maybe Hasbro thought that regular pony hair isn't "masculine" enough. Boys in the previous gens had pretty hair and we love them just fine!

I don't love the troll hair, but I think he'd look pretty silly with long silky hair like the girls And I'm not sure if they could give him shorter hair without having it stick up all crazy, since he's so small so his hair would have to be pretty short, and there wouldn't be enough weight to keep it down. So although I don't love that it's troll hair, I'm not sure if there's a much better alternative. I think I can probably live with it, lol.

Which is a shame as I think this is the one and only chance we get to have him! Hope fully someone in the factory will catch wind of this and knock up some regular hair prototypes and sell em on taobao!

That is exactly what I'm afraid of!  Look at the Newborn Cuties.  They had awful fuzzy hair, and when you removed it, they had a chunk missing out of their head!  I'm excited that we finally, after how many years, have a boy!!!  I'll still buy him troll hair or not, but I'd def prefer him to have nylon hair.

I hope he has plugs though, makes it easier to re-root I'm not found of the troll hair. But I sure hope they did'nt glue it on!

I'm not fond of it either. It looks kind of tacky to me, like something you'd see on a fakie. :/

I realize that due to length, normal pony hair would stick up funny and probably just be a mohawk, but they could've given him longish hair (think G1 Big Brother length). I think he could still be handsome that way.

And rehairing is not an option for all of us. Not only do I not know how, but I'd have to buy hair and whatever tool is used. Also I don't like altering my ponies, I want them original. Plus what about non-collectors? They're stuck with the troll hair no matter what. XP

I guess for me it's kind of a moot point anyway, as I probably won't be buying him since the playset will be expensive and I don't really want it (though I'll gladly adopt him from any thrift store he may show up in down the road, even with his crazy hair), but my real issue is if they make more boys to sell as singles, I'll probably want them...but I'll be less excited if they all have troll hair too.

I suppose this could always just be a one-off, like the first release of Star Catcher with her fabric wings. That never happened again in G3...so maybe if/when more boys come out, they'll have normal hair. I can hope! =P

Blahh, I sound so whiny. I'm actually really grateful that they're giving us any boys at all. I'll take boys with troll hair over no boys any day!
