Help me choose a carpet cleaner!

We just bought a house, and about 3500 sq ft of it is carpeted. The carpet is very dirty. Stains, dirt, who knows what else. So I'm looking to order a carpet cleaning machine off Amazon. I need one that cleans deeply, and won't fall apart. I have 2 cats which prefer to be sick on the carpet instead of the wood floor too, so I'll be using it a lot.

Any suggestions? What do you have?

No help I'm afraid. We have no carpet.   Good luck though!

I'm calling my granny in a few, so I'll ask what she uses... she's got like 80 dogs and her house is wall-to-wall carpet, so it's good.  Will edit with her response.

Edit: Bissell Pro-Steam.  She says it's worked better than other more expensive ones she's bought.  For dog mess, she adds some Simple Solution to the cleaning regimen.

Bissel pro Heat 2x multi surface pet.  4 cats and a 6.5 yo Spirited girl.  I've almost got the strawberry milk stain out.  Cat barf, no problem.

As far as a cleaning solution, we use Folex. It's wonderful. Old coffee stains, fresh red wine, various kid accidents have been removed. We have a mini bissel since we have a small house.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! The Bissell has mostly good reviews. I also saw a Hoover on there too with great reviews- will look more into each one.
